Vaginal route of administration

Vaginal disease is a disease that troubles many women in daily life. When suffering from vaginal disease, the more effective treatment method is to take vaginal medication and let the medicine act directly on the affected area. There are also some things that need to be paid attention to when administering the medicine vaginally, such as washing your hands before administering the medicine, paying attention to the strength of the medicine, the depth of administration and the time of administration.

Steps of vaginal suppository

1. Clean your hands

2. Pull out the piston of the applicator as far as possible and place the vaginal medication into the applicator.

3. Lie on your back with your knees raised to facilitate insertion of the applicator.

4. Slowly lower the applicator deeper into the vagina, then press the piston to push the tablet into the vagina.

5. After the medication is inserted, pull the piston out of the applicator, clean it carefully, and store it in a dry and clean place for future use.

Precautions for vaginal suppositories

1. Vaginal suppositories are best taken at night

It is best to use vaginal suppositories before going to bed at night, as this helps the drug to be fully decomposed and absorbed. If you insert the suppository during the day, the medicine will easily flow out of the vagina due to daily activities, which not only wastes the medicine but also easily stains the underwear.

2. You may experience temporary discomfort after vaginal suppositories

A small number of people feel slight discomfort in the vagina when using suppositories. At this time, do not stop taking the medicine on your own. The discomfort in the vagina will gradually decrease as the symptoms improve. In addition, regular check-ups are required after treatment. Do not stop treatment just because symptoms have eased, as this can easily lead to incomplete treatment of vaginitis.

3. Continue taking medication during menstruation

Even if menstruation starts, you should continue to take the medicine without interruption.
