How to treat nephritis in women?

The main function of the kidneys is to help people excrete. In fact, the kidneys are also related to human health. Once there is a problem with the kidneys, not only the kidneys themselves are prone to disease, but other parts will also be affected. Especially for middle-aged and elderly men, it is even more necessary to prevent diseases such as kidney deficiency. Nephritis is a disease that can be suffered by both men and women. So the question is, what is the best way to treat nephritis in women?

General treatment

Women should rest in bed when they develop chronic nephritis. The daily salt intake should not be too much, preferably not more than 3 grams per day. Patients with normal renal function should consume 1g of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. When patients develop azotemia, protein intake should be limited. It is recommended to give high-quality animal protein rich in essential amino acids.

Symptomatic treatment

The patients were treated with anti-edema, diuretic and blood pressure lowering treatments. Thiazide diuretics are commonly used. If the hypertension value is still unsatisfactory after diuresis, oral calcium channel blockers or vasodilators can be added in divided doses. However, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors and potassium-sparing diuretics should be used with caution in patients with oliguria to avoid inducing hyperkalemia.

What causes nephritis in women?

Genetic factors: In the past, it was generally believed that hereditary kidney diseases were rare. However, in the past 20 years, with the development of science, the discovery rate of hereditary kidney diseases has increased significantly, and more than 30 types are currently known. The most common ones are: hereditary nephritis (Alport syndrome), thin basement membrane nephropathy, polycystic kidney disease, etc.

Pregnancy: Pregnancy and kidney disease can affect each other. Pregnancy increases the burden on the kidneys, making them more susceptible to pathological damage and worsening renal function.

Infectious factors: Many bacteria (streptococci), viruses (such as influenza virus, varicella virus, herpes zoster virus, etc.) and parasitic infections can cause nephritis. It is common in upper respiratory tract infections (colds, acute tonsillitis), scarlet fever, purulent skin infections (sores, boils), etc. At the same time, infection is also one of the important reasons for the recurrence of nephritis and aggravation of renal function damage.

Hypertension: Hypertension is the main symptom of kidney disease, so patients with hypertension must first consider whether it is caused by kidney disease. At the same time, persistent hypertension is also one of the important reasons for aggravating renal function. Actively controlling hypertension is a very important part of the treatment of kidney disease at all stages.

Other factors: In addition to the above-mentioned hypertension and diabetes, many other systemic diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus, hepatitis, cirrhosis, gout, Henoch-Schönlein purpura, malignant tumors, etc. can cause secondary renal damage. The most common ones are lupus nephritis, hepatitis B virus-related nephritis, hepatorenal syndrome, gouty kidney, purpura kidney, etc.
