How to discharge postpartum uterine congestion

How to discharge postpartum uterine congestion

After giving birth, pregnant women are prone to some blood congestion inside the uterus. The blood congestion in the uterus can be slowly discharged from the body. If the blood congestion is not discharged, it will easily affect the health of the body and will also easily affect the contraction of the uterus. If the blood congestion in the uterus cannot be discharged, it can be treated with medication, or the uterine cleaning method can be performed to discharge the blood congestion in the uterus.

How to discharge uterine congestion after childbirth?

Some women will experience congestion after delivery because they have less activity out of bed or their uterus does not contract well after delivery, causing color ultrasound to show congestion in the uterus. The next treatment plan will be decided based on the amount of congestion and the time after delivery.

If the postpartum time is relatively short and the amount of blood stasis is not much, you can consider giving drugs to promote uterine contraction, such as Motherwort Granules, Neobiochemical Granules, etc. If the postpartum time is relatively long, for one month or there is a lot of blood stasis in the uterus, it is recommended to go to a regular hospital for uterine cleaning treatment in time. Relatively speaking, uterine curettage under hysteroscopy is more effective.

You should get out of bed and move around normally. You can apply a hot towel to your lower abdomen to promote the discharge of blood stasis. Do not lie in bed for a long time. If you lie in bed for too long, the blood stasis in the uterus will increase, affecting the contraction of the uterus and causing uterine infection. Keep your bowels open, drink more warm water, eat some fresh vegetables and fruits appropriately, and avoid spicy and irritating foods.

Under normal circumstances, lochia can be completely discharged 4-6 weeks after delivery. Lochia is the blood, secretions, mucus and other substances that flow out of the uterus after delivery. It is mainly a mixture of amniotic fluid, blood and placental tissue detachment. So don't worry too much during this period. In this case, blood clots may be the residue being discharged. After delivery, you should pay attention to keeping warm, avoid getting cold, and avoid eating spicy and irritating foods. Take some rest and relax.

If the lochia is prolonged, you should observe the condition of the lochia. If the lochia has a foul odor, or there is too much red lochia or white lochia and it lasts too long, repeatedly, the amount is too much, there are blood clots, or even if there is a fever or abnormal abdominal pain, you must go to the hospital for examination.

The reason why lochia cannot be completely discharged

1. Residual tissue may be caused by advanced pregnancy, uterine malformation, uterine fibroids, etc., or it may be due to the unskilled operation operator, resulting in incomplete removal of pregnancy tissue, causing some tissue to remain in the uterine cavity.

2. Uterine infection may be caused by taking a bath in a tub after childbirth or abortion, or using unclean sanitary napkins, or having sexual intercourse shortly after childbirth or abortion, or by the operator's failure to provide strict disinfection.

3. Weak uterine contractions may be caused by failure to get enough rest after childbirth, or by being weak and sickly, or by prolonged delivery or cesarean section, which can lead to weak uterine contractions and continued lochia.
