How to live a married life during menopause

In fact, sex is most frequent when couples are just married. As time goes by, sex may become less frequent. This is not only because couples are busy with work, but also has something to do with male sexual organs. Men have the strongest sexual needs in their twenties and thirties. When men reach their forties or fifties, their sexual function will naturally decline. So how should they have sex during menopause?

Causes of sexual dysfunction:

1. Physiological factors. This is the leading factor leading to sexual dysfunction in middle-aged and elderly women. As estrogen levels in middle-aged and elderly women decrease, the vaginal walls atrophy, lose elasticity, and secretions decrease, causing pain and dysfunction during sexual intercourse.

2. Psychological factors. Many men around 50 years old have successful careers, strong social skills and personal charm, and are easily admired by some young women, which invisibly increases men's sense of superiority.

On the contrary, after women enter menopause, their estrogen levels drop, and the secretion of certain neurostimulants, such as androgen and beta-endorphin, decreases, making them prone to mental fatigue, depression, loss of libido, and body changes (such as obesity). This can easily make them feel inferior, resulting in slower sexual arousal and awakening during sex, and even causing their spouses to lose "sexual interest" and interrupt sex.

In addition, the social and cultural atmosphere also has an important restraining effect on people's sexual concepts. The concept that "sex" belongs only to young people also deeply affects many middle-aged and elderly women, so that they feel embarrassed about having sexual desires. Therefore, postmenopausal sexual dysfunction is caused by multiple factors. Simply relying on estrogen supplementation for treatment can only alleviate the patient's physiological causes, but cannot improve their psychological causes.

How to relieve pain during intercourse:

1. It is advisable to maintain regular sex life before menopause. Some women's sexual experience and expression are not significantly affected after menopause. It has been proven that women who maintain a regular sex life before menopause can still maintain good sexual adaptability after menopause, even after the age of 60. This shows that the onset of menopause is not the end of sexual life, but menopausal women should be helped to adapt to the cognitive and practical problems it brings.
