What to do if you get spots after taking birth control pills

Young couples nowadays want to pursue pleasure and prevent pregnancy, so they choose not to wear condoms. The only remaining contraceptive method is oral contraceptives, which is also the contraceptive method adopted by many women. However, oral contraceptives are long-term and continuous use is not good for the body. It can also easily cause complications, such as plaques on the face, poor skin quality or edema.

Women who take birth control pills for a long time will develop spots

Pigmentation is a "face problem" that worries many women. It usually appears on the forehead, cheeks and nose wings. When exposed to the sun, endocrine disorders and other conditions occur, the spots will become more severe. If women take oral contraceptives for a long time, it will also cause unpleasant pigmentation. People who take birth control pills for a long time, especially for more than five or six years, often have obvious pigmentation on their faces, especially some middle-aged women, where the symptoms are more obvious.

The development of pigmentation after taking oral contraceptives is primarily related to the drugs themselves. Because contraceptives can affect the human endocrine system, especially some short-acting contraceptives, which have a greater impact on the human body. In comparison, long-acting contraceptives are safer, but long-term use can cause damage to the liver. Poor liver function can affect the body's detoxification system and can indirectly cause spots on women's faces. Especially for women after 40 years old, because of the decline of ovarian function and endocrine dysfunction, they are more likely to develop spots under the stimulation of oral contraceptives.

Secondly, the deposition of pigment is also related to women’s personal constitution. Some people who usually have difficulty in defecation, internal blood stasis and heat, or have a constitution of yin deficiency and hyperactivity of fire are more likely to develop pigmentation if they take contraceptives for a long time.

Women who develop spots for this reason do not need to worry. Usually the symptoms will be relieved after stopping the medication, or they can go to the hospital and use Chinese medicine for treatment. To avoid the side effects of oral contraceptives, middle-aged women are advised to use other methods of contraception. Women should also pay attention to dietary conditioning, eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, and take some vitamin C and vitamin E to block the production of melanin.
