Red spots on the body during pregnancy

Red spots on the body during pregnancy

Many women will develop some red spots on their bodies when they are pregnant. This is generally a very common situation. Red spots on pregnant women may be caused by eczema, allergies, or other diseases. It is best to go to the hospital for a check-up, find out the cause, and then treat the symptoms. Do not blindly take some folk remedies, as this will affect the baby's growth and development.

Reasons why pregnant women have red spots on their skin:

1. Toxic skin rash during pregnancy: The prevalence rate is about 1%, mostly occurring in short and obese pregnant women, and most often occurs when stretch marks appear. It is currently believed that it may be related to hormonal imbalance. The comforting thing is that this skin itching will not harm the fetus.

2. Papular dermatitis of pregnancy: The incidence rate is very low, and the disease may occur in any part of the body. When the disease occurs, rashes will appear on the skin all over the body. The cause of this disease is still unclear, but it may cause miscarriage or stillbirth, so you must be especially careful.

3. Pregnancy dermatosis: More than 15% of pregnant women may encounter this skin disease, and the whole body may itch. It usually occurs during the sixth or seventh month of pregnancy. Except for the itchy feeling, there are no other changes on the skin, and no rashes or blisters will appear. The cause of the disease is generally believed to be related to the increase in estrogen during pregnancy and has no effect on the fetus.

4. Pregnancy rash: About 2% of pregnant women may suffer from this disease, which usually occurs between the 4th and 9th months of pregnancy. Small red rashes appear on the skin, most often on the extremities, and look like insect bites. Some pregnant women think that the problem is caused by lice or fleas on their pets, but in fact it is caused by the pregnancy itself and has no effect on the fetus.

The concept of "fetal toxins" does not exist in medicine. "Fetal toxicity" generally refers to neonatal seborrheic dermatitis. The main symptom is a rash in the child, which is usually caused by the mother's internal heat constitution.

Are red spots on pregnant women fetal toxins?

What people generally call fetal toxicity in daily life is, from the perspective of traditional Chinese medicine, internal heat. It is traditional in southern cities to clear fetal toxins. Since the south is more humid and hot, pregnant women have to clear fetal toxins before giving birth. If they are not cleared, the baby is prone to sores and rashes after birth.

In fact, there is no concept of fetal toxicity in Western medicine. If a pregnant woman eats too much fish, or eats a lot of milk powder for pregnant women and spicy or fried foods during pregnancy, the heat in her body will increase, which may be transmitted to the child, and the child will get eczema. Despite this, doctors recommend that it is best not to remove fetal toxins by taking medication. Pregnant women should maintain a balanced nutrition during pregnancy. They should not only nourish their bodies, but also eat more fruits and vegetables.

How to clear fetal toxins?

1. Boiled eggs with mugwort leaves (goose eggs are best, duck eggs and chicken eggs are also acceptable)

Use a small amount of moxa leaves, beat two eggs into it, eat the eggs and drink the soup, once every two weeks or a month, eat 4 times in total.

2. Boil corn with silk

Boil corn silk with water and add a little rock sugar to prevent jaundice in children after birth. Drink it at least once or twice a week, and three or four times.

3. Lotus pod boiled eggs

Lotus seed pod is a traditional Chinese medicine and is available in pharmacies. Preparation method: Wash three lotus pods, put them in 4 to 6 bowls of water and boil them for half an hour. Then add the cooked eggs and cook for about 50 minutes. Add a little rock sugar and you can drink it. It can remove fetal toxins. It is said that children born after eating it will have fairer skin.
