Abdominal pain and amenorrhea

Abdominal pain and amenorrhea

Some female friends often feel pain in their lower abdomen and their menstruation is delayed. This is quite common. So after it happens, you need to pay attention to regulating your body, because long-term abdominal pain will make patients feel very uncomfortable and affect their normal life. In addition, there are many more serious diseases that will also cause lower abdominal pain after they occur.

There are many types of acute lower abdominal pain with various manifestations, but they have one common characteristic, that is, they change greatly and progress rapidly. If delayed, it will bring serious consequences to the patient, so it must be taken seriously.

Acute inflammation causes lower abdominal pain: acute endometritis, acute salpingo-oophoritis, pelvic peritonitis, etc. Among them, acute salpingo-oophoritis is the most common, and in severe cases, abscesses may form. Acute pelvic infection often occurs after delivery and abortion.

Non-inflammatory lower abdominal pain: Common causes include ectopic pregnancy, ovarian tumor pedicle torsion and rupture, etc. Lower abdominal pain caused by ectopic pregnancy is usually severe. If the fallopian tube pregnancy ruptures, the amount of bleeding is large and the rate is fast. The blood quickly spreads to the entire abdominal cavity and causes pain in the whole abdomen, leading to anemia and shock in the patient. When the pedicle of an ovarian tumor twists, it can cause persistent colic. In addition, the contents of an ovarian cyst that ruptures can irritate the peritoneum and cause pain.

Other causes of acute lower abdominal pain: Acute lower abdominal pain may occur when uterine perforation occurs during artificial abortion or IUD. In addition, acute intestinal obstruction, abdominal organ stones, hydrosalpinx, intestinal torsion, dysmenorrhea, and pelvic and abdominal trauma can all cause acute lower abdominal pain.

The differential diagnosis of acute lower abdominal pain is not easy. Moreover, improper behavior before going to the hospital emergency room may aggravate the condition and may also mask the patient's original symptoms, giving the doctor a false impression when making a diagnosis.

There are many causes of chronic lower abdominal pain, the most common of which are chronic inflammation of the reproductive organs, endometriosis, adenomyosis, pelvic congestion and psychological pelvic pain.

Chronic genital inflammation: chronic cervicitis, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, dysmenorrhea, etc.

Pelvic congestion: also known as pelvic varicose veins, caused by chronic pelvic congestion.

Tumor pain: When gynecological malignancies develop to the late stage, the pelvic nerves may be infiltrated or compressed by the tumor, causing pain.
