How to wean naturally during the confinement period

Although we know that breast milk is good for the fetus, some people cannot provide enough milk for their babies due to physical reasons. In fact, we can also feed our children with formula milk on the market, so that mothers can avoid breastfeeding. During the confinement period, you can use scientific methods to wean the baby, so that the body can recover to its previous state faster. So, how should we wean our babies during the confinement period?

1. Gradually reduce the number of feedings

When the baby is ready to be weaned, the mother should gradually reduce the number of feedings, and must not stop breastfeeding the baby directly. It is recommended to reduce the number of breastfeeding during the day at the beginning, then slowly reduce the number of breastfeeding at night, and finally transition to complete weaning. While reducing breast milk, you should slowly increase the amount of formula milk and complementary foods so that your baby will gradually stop relying on breast milk.

2. Make sure your baby is in good physical condition before weaning

Before weaning your baby, it is best to take your baby to the hospital for a detailed physical examination to ensure that there are no problems with your baby's body and that the functions of various systems in the body (especially the digestive function) are normal. This way you can wean your baby with confidence. If you wean your baby when he is in poor physical condition, it will be harmful to his healthy development.

3. The weaning process must be decisive and not delayed

Once you decide to wean your baby, the mother must be resolute and decisive. Don't be soft-hearted and think about postponing the weaning time just because the baby cries temporarily. Similarly, you cannot stop breastfeeding once and let him drink for a few days, then stop breastfeeding again and let him drink for a few days again. This will only cause the baby to have negative emotions, such as bad mood, refusal to eat, etc., and may also lead to mental illness in the future, so the weaning process must not be delayed.

4. Don’t wean your baby when he’s sick

It is best not to wean your baby when he is sick or teething, so as not to aggravate the condition. In addition, do not wean your baby when traveling, moving, or changing babysitters, so as not to increase the difficulty of weaning your baby.

5. Do not avoid during weaning

During the weaning period, mothers should not directly hand the baby over to family members for feeding in order to wean the baby quickly, and choose to avoid it. This is wrong, because during the weaning process, the baby needs more comfort and care from the mother, so the mother should caress and hug the baby more, and comfort the baby's impetuous emotions, so that the baby can still feel the mother's love.

6. Don’t let your baby touch your nipples during weaning

During the weaning process, it is best not to let the baby see or touch the nipple, so as not to arouse the baby's desire to drink breast milk. You can give the baby a pacifier to distract the baby's attention.
