What should I do if pregnant women have less amniotic fluid?

If a pregnant woman has too little amniotic fluid, she must receive symptomatic treatment in time. For example, if the pregnant woman has insufficient blood volume, she can improve the situation by drinking plenty of water or through intravenous infusion. After all, too little amniotic fluid can be very harmful to the fetus and can easily lead to fetal malformations or even miscarriage. Timely and good treatment can prevent any impact on the fetus.

1. If oligohydramnios is found during pregnancy and there is clear evidence of fetal malformation, the pregnancy needs to be terminated immediately.

2. If oligohydramnios is diagnosed during pregnancy and there is no fetal malformation and the fetus is already mature, termination of pregnancy can be considered, and cesarean section can be considered as the method of termination of pregnancy.

3. For oligohydramnios caused by insufficient maternal blood volume or hypoxia, drinking plenty of water, intravenous infusion and oxygen inhalation can indeed play a certain role.

4. For pregnant mothers with hypercoagulation function, low molecular weight heparin can be injected subcutaneously or low molecular weight dextran can be infused intravenously to make the blood less easy to coagulate, the blood circulation in the placenta more smooth, and facilitate the formation of amniotic fluid.

5. Amnioinfusion: The decrease in amniotic fluid volume is the main reason why oligohydramnios has adverse effects on mother and fetus during pregnancy and delivery. Increasing the amount of amniotic fluid through amnioinfusion is a targeted treatment measure. Intra-amniotic infusion therapy is to inject an appropriate amount of normal saline into the amniotic cavity through the abdomen with a puncture needle under the guidance of B-ultrasound to improve the condition of oligohydramnios. This method is now recognized and adopted by more and more people, especially for some pregnant women who have unexplained oligohydramnios in the early stages and whose fetuses are immature. Amniotic fluid infusion can improve the effects of oligohydramnios on the fetus in a short period of time and maintain the normal development of the fetus.
