Women must read: Bilateral ovarian polycystic changes are very harmful

Bilateral polycystic ovaries are a type of ovarian disease that poses a great threat to women's reproductive health. They can cause ovulation disorders and lead to infertility. Bilateral polycystic ovarian changes are so harmful, so we must understand the cause and treat it in time. So what are the causes of bilateral polycystic ovarian changes?

1. Genetic factors

Bilateral polycystic ovary is a disease caused by autosomal dominant inheritance or X-linked (sex-linked) inheritance or gene mutation. Most patients have a chromosome karyotype of 46XX, and some patients have chromosome aberrations or mosaicism such as 46XX/45XO, 46XX/46XXq.

2. Abnormal adrenal function

50% of patients with bilateral polycystic ovaries have abnormal adrenal cortex function, which is often due to hyperfunction of the adrenal cortex, leading to excessive secretion of androgens and symptoms such as anovulation. Diseases that cause abnormal adrenal cortex function mainly include adrenal tumors, adrenal cortical hyperplasia, etc.

3. Obesity and hyperinsulinemia patients

Some patients with bilateral polycystic ovaries, especially obese patients, may present with hyperinsulinemia and insulin resistance, suggesting that it is caused by insulin resistance. There are many causes of insulin resistance. In most cases, it is caused by disorders in the information conduction system after the insulin receptor, but it can also be caused by insulin receptor defects.

4. Influence of long-term mental stress, drugs and diseases

Due to mental stress, drugs and certain diseases, the regulatory function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis is abnormal, resulting in excessive production of androgens by the ovarian stroma and theca cells. High androgens in the ovaries inhibit the maturation of follicles, resulting in a series of symptoms of PCOS such as amenorrhea and hirsutism.
