What to do if it's hot during confinement in summer

Summer confinement is a very troublesome thing for new mothers. In the hot summer, everyone is worried about suffering from the heat during confinement, but if giving birth really happens in the summer, you still have to go through it. Don’t cover yourself up during the confinement period in summer. Don’t use air conditioning or fans unless you catch a cold. It is recommended to choose a bedroom on the shady side to live in, so as to prevent the baby and mother from getting prickly heat. I wish the mother and baby stay healthy in the summer.

When new mothers are in confinement after giving birth, elders or doctors will advise them not to be exposed to wind, and the doors and windows of the room must be closed tightly. Even the gaps in the windows must be sealed. This is because new mothers are weak, and after giving birth, there will be gaps between the joints for a period of time. So if they are exposed to external wind at this time, they will suffer from postpartum diseases such as cold legs. But what if it's too hot? This requires opening doors and windows for ventilation in the morning and evening. While ventilating, the mother and baby should not stay in the room and should return to the room after ventilation is completed.

No matter how hot the weather is, you must not take a cold shower. You must wash your body with warm water. At the same time, it is strictly forbidden to wash your hair with cold water to prevent the scalp from catching a cold; do not use air conditioning or sleep on a cool mat; change clothes and mattresses frequently. Drinking non-iced beverages such as mung bean soup regularly is also beneficial for preventing heatstroke.

You should also be careful about the food you eat during confinement. Drink more warm boiled water and gradually transition from liquid food to normal diet. It is best to eat mainly natural foods, do not take too many nutritional supplements, and the diet should not be too light. Ensure the intake of calcium and iron supplements. Avoid eating too much meat and fish within two weeks after delivery. If you are worried about the fruits being cold, you can squeeze them into juice to drink.

To sum up, there are still many solutions to the heat during confinement in summer, so new mothers should protect their bodies for the health of themselves and their babies during confinement, reasonably use various methods to help cool the body, maintain a good mood, and go through the confinement period smoothly. Of course, at this time the new father must also play his role well, take good care of the new mother and baby, and help the new mother through the most difficult period.
