What causes vulvar itching?

Due to physiological reasons, women will have various problems if they don't pay attention, mainly problems with the vulva. Sometimes they will have bumps on the vulva, and some will have itching in the vulva. Itching in the vulva is particularly distressing, and they will scratch it constantly. This phenomenon is not only unsightly, but also bad for the body. So what is the cause of itching in the vulva? Let's find out.

1. Using the wrong sanitary napkin

If you have vulvar itching during menstruation, you should first rule out the use of inappropriate sanitary napkins. Sanitary napkins that are too thick, from unknown manufacturers (or fakes), contaminated tampons, and failure to change sanitary napkins in a timely manner may all cause itching in the private parts.

2. Poor private environment

During menstruation, there is a lot of secretion, especially in the first two days. The menstrual flow is heavy and the private environment is humid, which is easy to breed bacteria. If sanitary napkins are not replaced in time, the private environment will become worse, aggravating the infection.

Some women have sex when the private environment is not good, which greatly increases the chance of vulvar itching and may also cause vaginitis, cervical problems, etc.

3. Improper cleaning of private parts

In order to "kill bacteria", many girls will frequently wash their private parts with hot water at higher temperatures and private cleaning lotions during their menstrual period. In fact, menstrual blood is just a mixture of blood, shed endometrium, cervical mucus and vaginal secretions, not bacteria and viruses, so under normal circumstances, the vulva is not dirtier than the mouth, nose and other parts of the body. Excessive cleaning and disinfection will cause imbalance of vulvar flora, local inflammation, and aggravate itching.

Through the above introduction, we know what causes vulva itching. Generally, it occurs when you don't pay attention to it. There are also disease-related situations, but they are very rare. We should pay attention to how we clean our vulva and try not to hurt it. If itching occurs, we should get timely treatment.
