Does uterine cyst require surgery?

Uterine cyst is a common disease among female friends. It can cause a lot of harm to the female body. The most direct and obvious is frequent abdominal pain, menstrual disorders, and sometimes irregular bleeding. It is very likely to become cancerous and seriously affect the health of women. Let us learn about some effective treatments for uterine cysts.

Uterine fibroid is the most common benign tumor of the female genitalia. Most of them are asymptomatic. A few of them may present with vaginal bleeding, abdominal mass and compression symptoms. The exact cause of the disease is unknown. Modern Western medicine uses sex hormones or surgery to treat it, and there is no other ideal treatment.

Early reports of modern acupuncture treatment of this disease appeared in the mid-1950s. In the early 1960s, there were large-sample observations of more than 100 cases, which used a combination of fire needle Ashi points and acupuncture of distant points, with good therapeutic effects. Since the 1980s, a set of effective experience has been further summarized. In terms of diagnosis, ear acupoint palpation is used to diagnose uterine fibroids. Metal rods are used to palpate the bilateral uterine and endocrine acupoints. If there are 1 mm thick cords in the subcutaneous tissue that do not disappear when touched, it is considered positive on palpation. Through observation of 70 patients, the positive compliance rate was over 90%. Therefore, it is believed that this method has certain diagnostic value. In treatment, body acupuncture is mainly used, combined with ear acupuncture, which also has significant effects.

The main thing is to have a cervical smear test every year to rule out cervical cancer and precancerous diseases.

1. Scattered, smaller cervical cysts generally do not require treatment, and annual checks are sufficient.

2. For densely packed smaller Nabothian cysts or relatively large cysts, phototherapy, laser, microwave, and other physical treatments may be considered.

When a uterine cyst is found to be relatively large during a gynecological examination, it is best to promptly use appropriate surgical methods based on its specific location and the size of the cyst to provide timely treatment to minimize damage to the body. Before treatment, it should also be determined whether the tumor is malignant.
