What are the symptoms of cervical cysts in women?

Some patients with cervical cysts have already developed their disease to the late stage when they go to the hospital for treatment. Although it can be completely cured at this time, the difficulty of treatment is much greater than in the early stage, and it will also cause the patients themselves to experience unnecessary pain. The main reason for this phenomenon is that people do not know enough about the symptoms of the disease. Next, I will talk about the possible clinical reactions.

1. Pain: Pain often occurs in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral area. Sometimes the pain may occur in the upper abdomen, thighs and hip joints. It worsens during menstruation, bowel movements or sexual intercourse. Especially when the inflammation extends backward along the uterosacral ligament or spreads along the bottom of the broad ligament, forming chronic parauterine connective tissue inflammation, the pain is even worse when the main ligament of the cervix thickens. Whenever the cervix is touched, it immediately causes pain in the iliac fossa and lumbosacral region. Some patients may even experience nausea, affecting their sexual life.

2. Increased vaginal discharge: Sometimes it is the only symptom of chronic cervicitis. It is usually thick mucus or purulent mucus. Sometimes the secretions may contain blood or a small amount of blood, and there may also be contact bleeding. Vulvar itching may be caused by irritation from leucorrhea.

3. Bladder and intestinal symptoms: Chronic cervicitis can spread through the lymphatic channels or directly spread to the bladder triangle or the connective tissue around the bladder. As a result, as soon as there is urine in the bladder, there will be an urge to defecate, and symptoms of frequent urination or difficulty urinating will appear, but the urine is clear and the routine urine test is normal. In some cases, the inflammation continues to spread or through the lymphatic pathways connecting the cervix, bladder trigone, and ureters, causing secondary urinary tract infection. The incidence of chronic pyelonephritis in adult women is many times higher than that in men, which may be related to this situation. Intestinal symptoms are less common than bladder symptoms, and some patients experience pain during bowel movements.

From a global perspective, these are roughly the symptoms that women experience after developing cervical cysts. They are generally easy to detect and distinguish by themselves. Therefore, when similar discomfort reactions occur, do not ignore them. Be sure to check and treat them in time to avoid aggravating the symptoms.
