Let’s learn about some of its symptoms below! I hope the following content will be helpful to everyone.

Uterine prolapse occurs when the tissue of the uterus becomes damaged or weakened, causing the uterus to drop from its normal position into the vagina. There are many reasons for uterine prolapse: premature pregnancy, premature marriage and childbirth, or excessive childbirth and relaxation of pelvic muscle tissue are the most important causes of this disease. Delivery injuries, such as delayed labor, premature labor, delivery of a giant fetus, and surgical delivery, can all cause overstretching and laceration of the paracervical tissue, pelvic fascia, and main fascia of the pelvic floor muscles. Especially when the cervix is not fully dilated and abdominal pressure is applied too early or the above-mentioned surgery is performed, these supporting structures will be severely damaged, causing their supporting functions to be weakened or lost, resulting in uterine prolapse.

Participating in heavy physical labor too early after childbirth. Especially those labors such as carrying loads on shoulders which increase abdominal pressure. It can lead to prolapse of the rectum and bladder in severe cases. After menopause or post-menopause, due to the gradual decline of ovarian function and the decrease of estrogen levels, the support of the reproductive tract is weakened, and uterine prolapse occurs. Congenital pelvic tissue hypoplasia, chronic coughing, long-term excessive abdominal pressure, and physical weakness can also lead to uterine prolapse.

The main symptoms and signs of uterine prolapse are:

1) Swelling prolapse from the vagina: The patient feels a swelling prolapse from the vagina, which is more obvious when working, carrying heavy loads, walking or standing for a long time. The swelling will shrink or disappear after resting in bed. Severe uterine prolapse cannot retract into the vagina on its own even if you rest in bed and needs to be retracted manually. The diameter of the cervix that has been prolapsed and enlarged for a long time can sometimes reach 6 to 7 cm, and the length can reach 7 to 8 cm, which is longer than the uterine body.

2) Back pain and a feeling of falling: The severity of the pain is related to the degree of uterine prolapse, labor intensity, posture and duration, etc. During menstruation, the pelvic cavity is congested, symptoms are aggravated and are often accompanied by varying degrees of menorrhagia.

3) Urinary system symptoms: often accompanied by bladder and urethral prolapse, so symptoms such as urination disorder, urinary urgency, urinary urgency, and stress urinary incontinence may occur.

4) Difficulty in defecation: This symptom often occurs when combined with rectal prolapse.

5) Increased vaginal discharge.

I hope that after reading the above article, you will be able to understand the main symptoms of uterine prolapse. In the future, these symptoms will be the basis for early detection. I hope everyone can remember these symptoms. When one or more of the above symptoms actually appear, you should know that you have uterine prolapse, a gynecological disease, and you must seek treatment.
