What is the dietary treatment for anemia in women?

Some women often suffer from severe anemia symptoms, such as pale face and general weakness, due to eating too little, being picky about food, excessive menstrual bleeding, or having other diseases. In this case, can we use diet therapy to replenish blood? If so, what kind of food should we eat more in our daily diet?

Principles of tonic: The representative tonic for qi deficiency is ginseng, including American ginseng, white ginseng (raw sun-dried ginseng), wild ginseng, red ginseng (Korean ginseng, Korean ginseng), etc. Generally speaking, it is appropriate for people with qi deficiency and slight heat to take American ginseng, such as those suffering from hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, chronic hepatitis, and menopausal syndrome. People with simple qi deficiency can take white ginseng (raw sun-dried ginseng), and those with more serious qi deficiency can take wild ginseng, because wild ginseng has a significant effect on replenishing qi.

People with qi deficiency and coldness should use red ginseng (Korean ginseng) as a tonic, as red ginseng has the effect of replenishing qi and warming yang. Women with qi deficiency should eat more qi-replenishing foods such as radish, jujube, and pork rib soup in autumn and winter; in terms of medicinal tonic, they can drink the "Sijunzi Decoction" made with astragalus, ginseng, white atractylodes, and licorice.

Dietary therapy plan:

Yam and Job's tears tea: 9 grams each of Chinese yam and Job's tears, simmer in water and drink as tea. Drinking yam and coix seed tea regularly can make your vital energy strong, your spirits high and your complexion good. But please note that good yam is white. If it is purple or red, its effect is only equivalent to eating sweet potato.

Si Shen Soup: Lotus seeds, coix seeds, Chinese yam and water chestnuts boiled into a soup is a health-preserving diet suitable for people with qi deficiency. Some people are accustomed to adding spare ribs, chicken, etc. to the Si Shen Soup. In order to prevent overnutrition and weight gain, you can remove the attached fat before cooking.

If a woman has symptoms of anemia, she can refer to the above-mentioned method for diet therapy. If the anemia symptoms are more severe, she can take some blood-replenishing oral liquid to replenish the blood. In normal times, you can also eat more red dates, wolfberries, raw peanuts, etc. These foods are very good for replenishing blood, and female friends should eat them often.
