What are the symptoms of eczematous breast cancer?

Breast cancer can cause great harm to patients, so it must be treated as early as possible. Eczema-like breast cancer is generally more common in women during the lactation period. When women have symptoms such as rash, redness and swelling on their breasts, they should go to an authoritative hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible to avoid the deterioration of the disease. So what are the symptoms of eczema-like breast cancer? Let’s find out.

Breast eczema generally occurs during the lactation period and often occurs symmetrically. The rash mainly occurs on the nipple, areola and surrounding areas. In the acute stage, clusters of small papules, blisters or small pustule may appear, with flushed base. The blisters may rupture, with punctate exudation, and may merge with each other to form an erosive surface. After scabbing, changes such as desquamation may occur. In the subacute and chronic stages, the skin surface may become thickened, rough and desquamated, the nipple may be cracked, and accompanied by pigmentation. The patient will feel severe itching in the affected area, which is more severe at night. Those with nipple cracks may experience pain.

Eczematous breast cancer often occurs during the non-lactation period and is mostly unilateral. The early lesions mainly invade the skin of the nipple and areola. At the beginning of the disease, it is often manifested as extreme itching or mild burning pain of the nipple, followed by redness and mild erosion of the nipple and areola, with yellow-brown or gray scaly crusts attached to the surface. The skin in the affected area is rough, thickened and hard, with a clear boundary with the surrounding area. Later, the nipple on the affected side may become sunken or eroded, or a hard lump may be felt in the breast.

In addition to physical examination, auxiliary methods such as breast radiography, exfoliative cytology and pathological examination can also be used to confirm the diagnosis. In terms of treatment, breast eczema can often be cured by taking antihistamines orally, using traditional Chinese medicine to dispel wind and dampness, and applying various eczema creams externally. The above treatments are ineffective for eczema-like breast cancer, and surgical treatment is required once confirmed. In the early stages when there is no breast lump, a simple mastectomy on the affected side can be performed. If a breast lump is already present, radical mastectomy is required.

If you suffer from eczema-like breast cancer, you must pay attention to related nursing work and pay attention to your diet. After becoming ill, you can treat the disease through surgery or traditional Chinese medicine, which can help alleviate the symptoms of the disease and avoid the deterioration of the patient's disease.
