What is the reason for frequent fetal movements at 31 weeks of pregnancy?

Pregnancy is a physiological process that all female friends will go through. There are many things that our female friends need to pay attention to in this process. A little carelessness will cause great harm to ourselves or the baby in our body. So what should our female friends pay attention to when they are pregnant? Especially during the 31st week of pregnancy, you must pay more attention, because the baby in the belly is at the peak of development at this time, so you must be extra careful at this time.

At 31 weeks of pregnancy, the fetus is about to go through a peak of growth. At this time, the fetus' lungs and digestive system have basically developed, height growth slows down and weight increases rapidly. The baby is now about 40 cm long, 28 cm long from top to bottom (sitting height), and weighs 1.4 to 1.5 kg. The fetus's body and limbs continue to grow until they are in proportion to the head. So, is it normal for fetal movements to be too frequent at 31 weeks of pregnancy?

At 31 weeks of gestation, the body and limbs of the fetus continue to grow until they are in proportion to the head. The fetus now weighs about 2000 grams. The baby's subcutaneous fat becomes more abundant, wrinkles become fewer, and he looks more like a baby. The baby's organs continue to develop and mature at this time, the lungs and gastrointestinal tract are close to maturity, and the baby can breathe and secrete digestive juices. The amniotic fluid that the fetus drinks is excreted into the amniotic fluid through the bladder, which is to exercise the urination function after birth.

Clinically, the fetal movements vary at different stages of pregnancy, and the number of physiological fetal movements increases: sometimes, as the fetus grows, the fetal movements are most obvious between 30 and 32 weeks of pregnancy. At 20 weeks, the average number of fetal movements per day is about 200, which increases to 375 at 32 weeks. The number of fetal movements per day may be between 100 and 700.

Normal pregnant women begin to feel fetal movements at 20 weeks of pregnancy. As the gestational age increases, the fetal movements gradually increase, reaching a peak at 32-34 weeks of pregnancy. After 38 weeks of pregnancy, the fetal movements begin to decrease gradually. If the fetal movement is greater than or equal to 30 times/12 hours or greater than or equal to 4 times/hour, it is normal. If the fetal movement is less than or equal to 3 times/hour for two consecutive days, it is abnormal, and the fetus is often suspected to be suffering from intrauterine hypoxia and distress.

During the day, there are two peaks of fetal movement, one between 7 and 9 in the morning, and the other between 11 at night and 1 in the morning of the next day. At other times, especially in the early morning, fetal movements are relatively rare. The general rule is no less than 3 to 5 times per hour, and the fetal movement is about 30 to 40 times every 12 hours. However, if the fetal movement exceeds 10 times per hour, it should be considered as frequent fetal movement and you should go to the hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

If fetal movements are too frequent at 31 weeks of pregnancy, it may be related to fetal intrauterine hypoxia. Therefore, it is abnormal for fetal movements to be too frequent during the 31st week of pregnancy, and female friends must be careful.

Pregnancy is a very important thing, because after all, you are carrying your own flesh and blood. I think all mothers hope that their children will grow up well. So expectant mothers must pay attention to what they should pay attention to during pregnancy, so that their children can grow up healthily. Especially during the peak period of child development at 31 weeks, you must be especially careful and pay attention, otherwise it will have a great impact on your child's development.
