How to accurately calculate the safe and dangerous period of menstruation

How to accurately calculate the safe and dangerous period of menstruation? Many female friends are always concerned about when their period comes, but pay no attention to other things. Many female friends don’t even know when their ovulation period is. This is very prone to problems. So, how to accurately calculate the safe and dangerous period of menstruation? Let’s take a look at the introduction below.

Understand what the menstrual cycle is. The so-called menstrual cycle is: the first day of the current menstruation is the first day of the cycle, and it lasts until the day before the next menstruation. This is called a menstrual cycle, which is generally about 26-35 days. Normal women of childbearing age have menstruation once a month. The period from the beginning of this menstruation to the first day of the next menstruation is called a menstrual cycle. For example, from the perspective of contraception, each menstrual cycle of a woman can be divided into the menstrual period, ovulation period (also known as the dangerous period) and safe period.

Ovulation period: menstrual cycle method, basal body temperature method and ovulation test strip test method

The method of calculating ovulation according to the menstrual cycle is also called the calendar method. Both menstruation and ovulation are affected by endocrine hormones from the pituitary gland and ovaries and show cyclical changes. The length of their cycles is the same, both occurring once a month, and ovulation occurs between two menstrual periods.

Women's menstrual cycles vary in length, but the interval between ovulation and the start of the next menstruation is relatively fixed, usually around 14 days. Based on this relationship between ovulation and menstruation, the ovulation period can be calculated according to the menstrual cycle. The calculation method is to count from the first day of the next menstrual period, and count down 14 days or subtract 14 days to get the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after the ovulation day are called the ovulation period. This is the theoretical basis of the rhythm method of contraception.

For example, a woman's menstrual cycle is 28 days, and the first day of this menstruation is December 2nd. Then the next menstruation will be on December 30th (December 2nd plus 28 days). Subtract 14 days from December 30th, and December 16th is the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after it, that is, December 11-20, is the ovulation period.

To calculate the ovulation period using this method, you must first know the length of your menstrual cycle in order to calculate the start date of the next menstrual period and the ovulation period. Therefore, this method is only suitable for women with normal menstrual cycles. For women with irregular menstrual cycles, it is impossible to calculate the date of the next menstrual period. Therefore, it is impossible to calculate the ovulation day and ovulation period.

Basal body temperature measurement

The basal body temperature of normal women of childbearing age changes cyclically, just like the menstrual cycle. This change in body temperature is associated with ovulation. Under normal circumstances, a woman's basal body temperature is lower before ovulation and rises after ovulation.

Body temperature should be measured as soon as you wake up every morning. Do not measure it after getting up. It should be measured as soon as you wake up. Try to keep your body still and do not talk. Measure the temperature as soon as you wake up. Do this every day and observe the dynamics.

When the body temperature suddenly drops one day and then rises by 0.3 to 0.5 degrees the next day, it means that ovulation is about to occur or is occurring. In short, it is a high-risk period.

Ovulation test strips

Ovulation test strips are not only used to measure ovulation day! For normal women, if they get pregnant this month, the ovulation test strips this month will definitely show two positive results, or even strong positive results! The first time is when ovulation occurs, which is in the middle of a menstrual cycle, and the other time is within 7 to 10 days after intercourse.

If the test result is negative, you can test it every other day. If it is a weak positive, you need to test it every day. If it is a strong positive (that is, when the test line and the control line are very obvious), it means that ovulation will occur within 24-48 hours. Generally, a strong positive result will last for 2 days, and when the result turns from strong positive to negative, it means that ovulation has occurred.

Safe period: The safe period after ovulation is relatively safe

The safe period is divided into the safe period before ovulation and the safe period after ovulation.

The period from the end of menstruation to the day before ovulation is the safe period before ovulation. From the first day after the end of ovulation to the day before the next menstrual cramps is the safe period after ovulation.

The safe period after ovulation is safer than the safe period before ovulation. This is because some women sometimes affected by environmental changes and mood swings affect the advance of the ovulation, so before the safe period ovulation will be shortened, but did not know their own, so before the safety period ovulation is not safe. The opportunity that the ovary has row two eggs in a menstrual cycle is very rare, that is, after ovulation to the next menstrual cramps before this period of time usually won't happen again the second time of ovulation, so the safety period after ovulation is relatively safe.

Every woman is different, and it is impossible for the same woman to be the same every month. Therefore, women must find some ways to understand their own bodies. This is not only to protect and respect themselves, but also to respect the little life they may bring. At the same time, I also hope that female friends can take care of themselves and protect themselves.
