Next, this article will introduce six methods of ovulation detection for your reference only. Friends who want to know about the methods of ovulation detection can continue reading! Please see the detailed introduction below.

What are the methods for detecting ovulation?

1. Calculation of menstrual period

Female ovulation is affected by endocrine hormones from the pituitary gland and ovaries and changes periodically. The length of the cycles of the two is the same, with one cycle per month, and ovulation occurs between two menstrual periods. The calculation method is to count from the first day of the next menstrual period, and count down 14 days or subtract 14 days to get the ovulation day. The ovulation day and the 5 days before and 4 days after the ovulation day are called the ovulation period.

2. Observation of cervical mucus

As ovulation approaches, the mucus becomes clear, smooth and elastic, like egg white, with high stringiness and not easy to break. The last day of the appearance of this mucus ± 48 hours is the ovulation day. Therefore, when the vagina feels moist, it is the ovulation period, also known as the "fertile period." If you plan to conceive, you should choose the "wet period" before ovulation.

3. Self-test with test paper

Ovulation test strips predict ovulation by detecting the peak level of luteinizing hormone (LH). Within 24 to 48 hours before a woman ovulates, the luteinizing hormone (LH) in her urine will reach a peak level, and the result of self-testing with an ovulation test strip will be positive.

4. B-ultrasound monitoring

Through B-ultrasound examination, experienced doctors can see the process of follicles being discharged from small to large. This method should be the most accurate. Among all the methods of measuring ovulation, the most accurate one is currently the vaginal B-ultrasound monitoring method, which can not only detect whether there are dominant follicles in both ovaries, but also measure the size of the dominant follicles, the thickness of the endometrium, etc.

5. Leucorrhea observation

During a menstrual cycle, leucorrhea does not remain constant. Most of the time, vaginal discharge is drier, thicker, and less in quantity. On a certain day between two menstrual periods, the leucorrhea is clear, bright, and plentiful, like egg white, or more like the clear nasal discharge during a cold. This day is the ovulation period. This is because a higher concentration of estrogen is produced during ovulation, which acts on the columnar epithelial cells at the cervical opening, causing them to secrete a large amount of leucorrhea.

6. Basal body temperature method

When you wake up early in the morning every day, take your body temperature immediately without any activity. This temperature is called "basal body temperature." Mark the basal body temperature measured every day on graph paper. Women with regular ovulation periods may find that the basal body temperature is often lower than 36.5 degrees Celsius about two weeks before ovulation, and higher than 36.5 degrees Celsius about two weeks after ovulation. That is, in a month, a bidirectional curve appears with the basal body temperature being low at first and high at the end. The day when this bidirectional curve starts to rise is the ovulation period.
