The uterine cavity is an important reproductive organ for women and is also a place where lesions easily occur. A comprehensive understanding of the conditions of the uterine cavity can enable us to better understand our own conditions and respond quickly when abnormal conditions occur, otherwise it may result in infertility. Many women are concerned about the length of the uterine canal. So, what is the length of the cervical canal? Let’s take a closer look at it below. The position may move due to different hormone levels, age, endocrine system, vaginal pH and pathological conditions. If the estrogen level is high, such as in women of childbearing age, the transition zone moves outward toward the external cervical os, exposing the columnar epithelium in the endocervical canal. The blood supply of the cervix mainly comes from the uterine artery, which reaches the outside of the uterus through the parauterine tissue, crosses the ureter to the side edge of the uterus about 2 cm above the level of the internal os of the cervix, and then divides into upper and lower branches. The lower branch is distributed in the cervix and upper vagina, called the cervicovaginal branch, and the vein runs along with it. The nerves of the cervix mainly come from the presacral plexus, most of which form the pelvic plexus next to the cervix and are distributed in the uterine body, cervix, etc. The length of the cervix is about 4cm, and the width of the cervix is about 4mm, both are 4, just in different units. There was no significant difference in cervical length and cervical canal width among different gestational age groups of normal singleton pregnant women, and none of them had enlarged internal cervical os. Vaginal B-ultrasound measurement of cervical length and width is an important means of predicting cervical factors in threatened abortion, late labor and premature birth. Statistics show that the average cervical length is (36±5) mm and the cervical canal width is (4±1) mm. Taking cervical length ≤26mm as the cutoff value, the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of predicting premature delivery in pregnant women with threatened premature delivery were 100%, 81%, 55% and 100%, respectively. A cervix that is too short or too wide is a sign of cervical insufficiency. The above is an introduction to the length of the cervical canal. I hope it will be helpful for women to understand. The length of the cervical canal is generally not fixed and varies over a long period of time. In addition, the uterine cavity canal also varies depending on the woman's physical condition. Therefore, when conducting inspections, we must proceed according to the actual situation so that we can have a better understanding of our situation. |
