How to treat non-lactation mastitis

How to treat non-lactation mastitis

Nowadays, there are too many breast patients visiting hospitals, and too many women suffer from breast diseases, which requires every lady to pay high attention. Ladies who do not have any breast disease should take preventive measures and it is best to have a breast examination once a year. If you suffer from mastitis, please come and learn about it with me.

In recent years, with the popularization of health knowledge during pregnancy and postpartum period, the incidence of lactation mastitis has been on a downward trend, while non-lactation mastitis has been on an upward trend. The so-called non-lactation mastitis should include infancy, adolescence, menopause and old age. Mastitis can occur in any physiological period. Mastitis in infancy and adolescence is often caused by hormonal imbalance in the body. Breast swelling, dull pain, or nodules are non-bacterial, self-limiting, and self-healing inflammatory manifestations. The non-lactational mastitis referred to here refers to the mastitis process in adults during the non-lactation period. The disease is not uncommon, with the peak age of onset being between 20 and 40 years old.

Treatment options include:

Acute abscess type: Abscess drainage should be performed at the same time as antibiotic treatment. If pus is seen flowing out of the dilated catheter during the operation, appropriate scraping should be performed to remove the diseased catheter. Simple incision and drainage is prone to recurrence.

Inflammatory mass type: As long as the inflammation is localized and well controlled, even if a central abscess is formed, efforts should be made to remove the mass and the surrounding dilated ducts.

Chronic fistula type: Fistula incision can be performed to expand drainage, or the fistula and surrounding inflammatory tissue and dilated catheter can be completely removed. The incision can be sutured initially or delayed. Try to preserve your breasts. When fistulas are unhealed or occur with severe breast deformation, subcutaneous mastectomy or total mastectomy can be considered. Some young patients can undergo breast reconstruction at the same time or at a later date.

Getting sick is actually a very normal natural phenomenon, but if you worry too much about your condition, it may make your condition worse. I think the most important thing in curing an illness is to adjust your mentality and face the disease with a positive and healthy attitude. Don't worry, your condition is far less terrible than the doctor says. I wish you good health.
