Drug treatment of cervical erosion

Drug treatment of cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is a common disease among women. This type of disease has a great impact on women's physical health. Women must receive timely treatment after suffering from such a disease. Otherwise, when the condition becomes serious, the treatment will be very complicated. Moreover, if cervical erosion is not treated in time, it will also hinder fertility. Drug treatment of cervical erosion is a good choice and is very helpful in stabilizing the disease.

Drug treatment of cervical erosion:

1. Drug treatment - small side effects, more suitable for women who have not given birth. The most common drugs for treating cervical erosion abroad are Shadier Gel, Huijian combination, and external medication Xiaomi suppositories, which are effective but relatively expensive.

Carefully apply 10-30% silver nitrate solution or 10% iodine to the affected area with a cotton swab. After using silver nitrate, apply normal saline to convert excess silver nitrate into non-corrosive silver chloride. Take twice a week, 4 to 6 times as a course of treatment, and repeat if necessary.

Use a cotton swab dipped in potassium dichromate solution to carefully apply to the affected area. Apply the medicine once after the menstruation is over and repeat after the next menstruation. It is sometimes more effective for those with larger erosion areas. Before applying the medicine, wipe the cervical mucus with 0.1% chlorhexidine, and place two cotton balls in the posterior fornix to prevent the medicine from flowing down and burning the vaginal mucosa. After finishing, take out the cotton ball and wipe the applied area with a 75% alcohol cotton swab (formula: 10g potassium dichromate, 75ml concentrated sulfuric acid, add water to 100ml).

2. Physical therapy - suitable for patients with moderate and severe cervical erosion. Commonly used methods include electric ironing, laser therapy, and cryotherapy. The disadvantage is that the side effects are large and may cause the nerve sensitivity of the vaginal wall to decrease, affecting the quality of sexual life. In addition, it is easy to relapse after being cured.

So how should women with cervical erosion who have not given birth be treated?

First of all, we need to look at the extent and nature of the erosion. Cervical erosion is divided into three degrees: mild, moderate and severe according to the depth of the lesion. If it is mild and superficial erosion, even if the erosion surface is large, if the erosion is shallow and there is not much leucorrhea, it can be temporarily left untreated. If the papillary erosion is moderate or above, cancer prevention examination and treatment must be done.

3. Surgical treatment - If the above treatment is ineffective, or there is cervical hypertrophy, or the erosion is deep and wide, and involves the cervical canal, cervical conization or total hysterectomy may be considered. However, surgical treatment is rarely used nowadays.

After understanding the method of treating cervical erosion with drugs, you can choose this method to treat cervical erosion. However, for severe patients, surgical treatment should also be chosen. This treatment method will have an impact on the female body, so it is best not to choose this treatment method when it is absolutely necessary. Women should also pay attention to this.
