I'm pregnant and I don't know who the father is.

At present, the sex life of young people in our country is relatively open compared to the past. Some girls cannot tell who the father of their baby is even if they know they are pregnant. At this time, a paternity test is needed. Generally speaking, DNA identification can be carried out through the amniotic fluid of pregnant women. And the test results are relatively accurate, so let's take a look at it together: What should we do if we don't know who the father is in the early stages of pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and I don't know who the father is.

1. The pregnant woman's venous blood can be used for fetal DNA testing starting from the 11th week of pregnancy until the birth of the fetus. This method only requires extracting peripheral blood from pregnant women, and pregnant women will not suffer pain. It is also highly accurate and can prevent intrauterine infection and miscarriage of the fetus. It is a safe and reasonable method. Typically, test results are available within 15 days.

2. Take the embryo wool for DNA testing. The mother can take the fetal hair for DNA testing within 8-12 weeks (2-3 months) of pregnancy. Generally, the gestational age is determined by B-ultrasound, and then chorionic villus sampling is performed to obtain a small amount of villus tissue for DNA extraction and testing. In that case, the fetus will have a certain possibility of infection. Generally, test results can be obtained within about a week.

3. Take the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman for DNA testing. DNA testing of the fetus and pregnant woman's amniotic fluid can be carried out between 13 and 24 weeks of pregnancy (3 to 6 months). When collecting the amniotic fluid of a pregnant woman, it is usually obtained under the specific guidance of B-ultrasound. During pregnancy, the baby develops smoothly and the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman is relatively rich. The acquisition of a small amount of amniotic fluid (about 2-4 mL) has little effect on the fetus and the pregnant woman and is relatively reliable. Results can be obtained in about a week.

4. When taking the amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman for DNA testing, the samples that must be provided are: fetal sample (amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman), mother's DNA sample, and hypothetical father's DNA sample. In addition, invasive tests can easily come into contact with pregnant mothers, causing sample contamination, and may also cause miscarriage and imperfect development of the baby in the later stages of life. Therefore, it is recommended to be cautious when choosing the inspection method.

How to tell if you are pregnant

1. Delayed or amenorrhea: If a menstrual period is delayed for several days or does not come for a long time, it indicates the possibility of pregnancy. You should be vigilant. If you do not have a menstrual period for more than ten days, further identification measures should be taken.

2. Do your breasts feel swollen, itchy, or tingling? If your breasts continue to feel swollen, itchy, or tingling, it may be a sign of early pregnancy. Pay attention to it and closely observe whether your nipples have any changes.

3. Do you feel nauseous or vomiting? If you feel nauseous or vomiting for several days, it may be a sign of pregnancy. Most women experience nausea and vomiting in the early stages of pregnancy, but the severity varies from person to person.

4. Easy to get tired: In the early stages of pregnancy, you will feel more tired and sleepy. Therefore, when fatigue of unknown cause persists, the possibility of pregnancy is suspected.
