Precautions for pregnancy with uterine septum

Conditions such as a septate uterus or incomplete uterine septate are all considered uterine malformations. It is difficult to get pregnant normally, and it is easy to cause miscarriage or premature birth after pregnancy. Therefore, since the uterus is already septate and pregnant, it is necessary to take Chinese medicine or herbal prescriptions as soon as possible, persist in the treatment of nourishing the kidney and strengthening the yang and nourishing the fetus, and be sure to stay in bed to rest, there is a chance of recovery. During the entire pregnancy period, you must avoid having sex, exercising, and doing any physical work. Such pregnant women are high-risk pregnant women and require special monitoring by a doctor.

Because after pregnancy with a malformed uterus, the test tube embryo may not grow fully, causing bleeding and abdominal pain.

Threatened abortion may cause the embryo to stop developing, or even restrict the fetal development in the middle and late stages of pregnancy. Therefore, after a malformed uterus pregnancy, you need to pay attention to the following matters: in the early stages of pregnancy, you must check the B-ultrasound to see the development of the test tube embryo, and to see the fetal heartbeat. At the same time, you should rest as much as possible to avoid accidents caused by excessive activities. It is generally recommended to have a follow-up ultrasound every other month. Even in the late pregnancy, regular follow-up ultrasound is required to check the fetal development.

Uterine septum is a congenital disease. Only 20%-25% of patients can cause miscarriage or premature birth. Therefore, some patients do not need treatment, and only those with obvious clinical symptoms need treatment. The surgical treatment of uterine septum is applicable to the following aspects: the first is patients with infertility of unknown cause, the second is patients with more than two miscarriages, and the third is patients who need some assisted reproduction, in other words, patients who want to do test tube fertilization. These patients need surgical treatment. The surgical treatment option is hysteroscopic septum removal under laparoscopic surgery monitoring.

After the uterine septum is diagnosed by ultrasound, some patients have abnormal uterine fundus, that is, abnormal uterine septum, which may be a bicornuate uterus. Therefore, laparoscopic surgery can be used to see the shape of the uterus and confirm whether it is a true uterine septum. In addition, during the whole process of hysteroscopic removal, laparoscopic surgery can also monitor and prevent uterine rupture. After hysteroscopic uterine septum removal, the vast majority of patients have a good prognosis.
