Picture of yellow leucorrhea in 5 months of pregnancy

When you are almost five months pregnant, you have already reached the middle stage of pregnancy. Normally, the leucorrhea should be colorless and odorless. However, some women find that their secretions have turned yellow when they are almost five months pregnant. So what is the reason for the yellow secretions in the fifth month of pregnancy?

What is the reason for yellow vaginal discharge in May of pregnancy?

During pregnancy, the amount of secretions in a woman's vagina increases, and this type of secretion is generally called "discharge." If the discharge is just a lot, but has no bad smell, no itching, and no unusual color, it is normal and does not require special treatment. If the leucorrhea is thick and yellow, has a pungent odor, or causes itching of the vulva, you should seek medical attention, because abnormal leucorrhea usually means vaginal infection, which will affect the fetus.

Yellow vaginal discharge is a major manifestation of abnormal vaginal discharge. The abnormal leucorrhea is mainly manifested by changes in color, quality and quantity. Symptoms of leucorrhea such as tofu dregs, bloody leucorrhea, brown leucorrhea and dregs-like leucorrhea may appear. These symptoms are all warning signals of gynecological diseases. Yellow leucorrhea is usually caused by gynecological inflammation, and you should go to the hospital for a physical examination in time to confirm it and treat it in time.

Yellow vaginal discharge is more common in vaginitis. Common clinical cases include candidal vaginitis, candidal vaginitis, bacterial vaginitis, etc. Different inflammations have different clinical discharge characteristics:

1. Candidal vaginitis: Clinically, the leucorrhea is yellow, light green, and sticky.

2. Candidal vaginitis: Clinically, the leucorrhea is yellow and typically resembles tofu dregs.

3. Bacterial infection of vaginitis: Clinically, the yellowness of leucorrhea increases, and it is accompanied by vulvar itching.

Experts suggest that couples planning to have a baby should have a pre-pregnancy physical examination before they are ready to have a baby, and try to cure any diseases in the body before they are ready to have a baby, especially for pregnant women, as the disease is likely to have an impact on the fetus, and there are many concerns about taking medication during pregnancy, which is not good for maternal and child care.

Causes of yellow vaginal discharge:

1. Yellowish-brown leucorrhea is mostly caused by necrosis of diseased tissue and is more common in submucosal uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, cervical adenocarcinoma, etc.

2. Fungal vaginitis is one of the common vaginitis, often caused by Candida albicans infection, common in pregnant women and diabetic patients. Long-term use of antifungal drugs can cause the normal intestinal flora in the vagina to be disturbed, which is conducive to the growth and reproduction of fungi and makes it easy to get the disease. Patients taking corticosteroids, immunosuppressants and autoimmune diseases are prone to the disease. Patients with vitamin B26 deficiency and chronic active hepatitis are prone to yellow vaginal discharge.

3. Candidal vaginitis is the most common vaginitis, caused by infection with Toxoplasma gondii, which is an anaerobic endoparasitic parasite that often parasitizes the urogenital system. In women, it mainly exists in the vagina, and also in the urethral orifice, paraurethral glands, bladder and other locations. In men, it often parasitizes in the urethral orifice, prostate and other locations.

4. Elderly vaginitis is common in middle-aged women who have been postmenopausal for many years. After menopause, the ovaries decline, endogenous estrogen is deficient, the sexual organs shrink, the epithelial cells in the vagina become soft, and the local resistance weakens, making it easy for pathogens to multiply and cause inflammation.
