42-day maternity checkup

42-day maternity checkup

Since a woman becomes pregnant, her body's immunity and resistance are no longer as strong as before, and giving birth is even more painful. Therefore, she needs a certain amount of time to recover from surgery after delivery. With the improvement of the quality of life, most women choose to give birth in the hospital. After delivery, the doctor will tell the pregnant woman that after a 42-day recovery period, she should go to the hospital for a follow-up visit, mainly to observe how the woman's uterus and pelvic floor muscles recover. So what are the key examination items for this follow-up visit?

Experienced people remind you: Most people who go to the hospital need to go to the obstetrics department. The doctor will prescribe several examination items, among which there are three very important ones.

The first is the secretions from vaginal examination;

The second is a transvaginal ultrasound of the uterus and adnexa;

The third is pelvic floor muscle screening.

The first test is very simple: it is mainly used to determine whether a woman's vagina is inflamed. If so, the cause of the inflammation can be further investigated.

Normally, female discharge is mainly white, thin and sticky, without any odor. The amount is related to the female age and estrogen level.

Some people may be worried about the second test: mainly because some people may have episiotomy wounds when they choose natural childbirth. The wound will be quite painful for a period of time after the episiotomy. They are worried that these two tests will touch the wound. Even though they have endured the pain of childbirth, this kind of pain is incomparable to the pain of childbirth, but they are still very worried.

Intravaginal ultrasound mainly uses a camera to enter the inside of the woman's vagina to take pictures, but this camera is generally not very large, and it will not feel very uncomfortable. In addition, the time for the camera to enter is relatively short, only more than ten minutes. Usually, professional doctors do this examination, so mothers do not need to feel embarrassed or anxious.

The third test is the pelvic floor muscle screening: in fact, this is simpler. The doctor will put a camera-like object into the woman's vagina. There will be an instrument display around it. This instrument will send out a reminder sound to remind women when to squeeze the camera hard and when to relax. Women only need to do the posture according to the reminder.

The nurse usually puts the camera on the woman and then does other things. She will only communicate with the doctor if there is a special situation. This screening time is about 10 minutes, during which the woman will repeatedly do the two actions of squeezing and relaxing, and finally a report will be produced. The nurse will give this report to the doctor and then he can read it.

Different hospitals have different examination items. Some hospitals may also ask for blood tests and urine tests. Depending on the individual's physical condition, the examination items may also be different, but these three tests are basically included.

After giving birth, women must follow the doctor's advice and go to the hospital for a physical examination within the required time. After all, these examinations are beneficial to the health of women themselves. If there is a problem, it can be discovered and treated as early as possible, so as not to miss the best time for treatment. If there are no problems, it is best to treat it as a normal routine physical examination.

Women usually have various gynecological diseases after giving birth. Generally, they need to be checked once a year, which is also a way to be responsible for themselves.
