Ovulation test strips are not accurate at all

Many female friends buy ovulation test strips, but they don’t know how to read the ovulation test strips. Many women's ovulation tests always show weak positive or strong positive results. Let’s analyze below, how to read the ovulation test paper, and whether the ovulation test paper is accurate or not.

Process/Method

1. The ovulation test strip is to detect the process of the ovulation of the uterus and ovaries. Normally, the female body maintains a small amount of luteinizing hormone converted into growth hormone (LH). In the late menstrual period, the secretion of LH hormone increases rapidly, forming a peak, and then stimulates the release of mature eggs in the ovaries within 48 hours. Women are most likely to get pregnant during this period.

2 Operation method

Tear off the aluminum foil packaging bag along the wound position and remove the pregnancy test paper. Hold the test strip in your hand and insert the end with the arrow mark into the urine. Remove it after about 3 seconds and observe the result for 10-20 minutes. The result is based on reading the article within 30 minutes.

3. Results

1. If two lines are measured, the lower one is the test line and the upper one is the comparison line. The lower line is lighter than the upper one, indicating that it is the ovulation period, but not the peak of ovulation. At this time, it is necessary to continue daily testing.

2. There are two lines measured, the lower one is the detection line, and the upper one is the comparison line. If the lower line is darker than or the same darker as the upper line, it means ovulation will occur within 24-48 hours. This is the best situation to have children!

3. If there is only one line on the pregnancy test paper, it means that the ovulation period has not yet arrived or the peak of ovulation has passed.

4 When to start testing, how many

Because the ovulation time is different every month, the menstrual period may be early or late. Therefore, women with a normal cycle (28 days) usually start testing on the 12th day from the first day of their menstrual period (women with a 30-day cycle should start testing on the 14th day, and so on). If you only see the comparison line but no characteristic line, you can test it every 1 to 2 days. Once a light red characteristic line appears, it indicates that you have entered the ovulation period but have not yet reached the peak of ovulation, so you need to test it every 24 hours (because the peak period only lasts for 1 day, and the characteristic lines before and after this day are lighter than the comparison line. Therefore, if you do not insist on testing every day, it is easy to miss the peak of ovulation and mistakenly think that you have not ovulated), until the characteristic line and the comparison line are the same color or darker than the comparison line, which indicates that you will ovulate within 24 hours, which is the best time to get pregnant. (There are detailed descriptions and instructions on the independent packaging of each pregnancy test paper) Therefore, in one cycle (menstrual period ~ before the next menstrual period), generally 4 to 5 consecutive days of testing (using one strip each time) can detect the peak of ovulation, and the urine between 10 am and 8 pm is measured every day for observation. Please note that you should not drink alcohol or excessive water before the test.

5. Is the ovulation test strip accurate?

Objectively speaking, the detection rate of ovulation test strips is over 50%, because ovulation test strips detect progesterone in women's bodies, and this hormone is secreted by the female body. The secretion of this hormone by women is affected by their mood, environment, temperature, and diet, so the accuracy is not likely to be too high.
