Where is the female vagina?

The vagina is a muscular tube composed of mucosa, muscle layer and outer membrane. It is quite flexible and connects the uterus and reproductive organs. It is the female's sexual organ and the channel for menstruation and fetal delivery. So where is the lady's vagina?

The vagina is located between the bladder, urethra and duodenum, and is a highly extensible tubular organ. It has a variety of endocrine systems in the human reproductive process. It is the passage connecting the uterus and private parts. It is the only way for menstrual blood to be discharged and the baby to be born. It is also an important sexual organ.

The structure of the vagina is mainly narrow at the bottom, with the opening at the vaginal vestibule. In the virgin stage, the hymen around the vulva is broken and adhered, which can be ring-shaped, crescent-shaped, umbrella-shaped or sieve-shaped. After the hymen ruptures, a hymen mark will remain around the vulva.

The upper part of the vagina is spacious, surrounding the cervix and the inner part of the vagina, forming an annular indentation between the two, called the internal vaginal vault, which can be divided into the front, back and two sides. It is deep in the posterior side of the inner vaginal fornix and is closely adjacent to the duodenal fornix, separated only by the vaginal wall and a layer of retroperitoneum. It has great practical significance in clinical medicine, such as the fluid accumulated in the pit can be drained through the posterior fornix.

Endocrine system

The vagina is a very important channel connecting a woman's internal organs and reproductive organs. It is the passage for women's sexual organs and menstrual blood to be discharged and the fetus to be delivered. The upper part of the vagina is connected to the uterus, and its lower part is the vulva. The front of the vagina is adjacent to the bladder and urethra, and the back is connected to the duodenum and perineum. Because there is a bladder in front of the vagina and a duodenum in the back, if childbirth takes too long, the fetal head will be pressed against the vaginal wall for a long time, which can cause the vaginal wall to die due to lack of oxygen and ischemia, resulting in serious urinary and fecal leakage. Therefore, it is not suitable for pregnant women to prolong the delivery process.

Endocrine system in the vagina

Blood pressure provides a safe channel for menstrual blood to travel from the uterus to the outside of the body.

Blood is a key venue for women to lead a married life. The front wall of the lower vagina is particularly sensitive to sexual intercourse.

In addition, under normal circumstances, the vagina is the passage for the fetus to be delivered from the mother.

The vagina is a window for examining the female internal reproductive organs.

Physiological characteristics

The potential for flexion and extension of a woman's vagina can sometimes be quite astonishing.

Each section of the vagina responds to sexual excitement differently. For example, the inner and outer 1/3 of the vagina is composed of ectoderm and contains sympathetic nerves, so the peripheral nerves that respond to touch are only concentrated around the vulva. The 2/3 of the female vagina comes from the mesoderm and has no peripheral nerves distributed throughout it. Therefore, the inner and outer 1/3 of the vagina are more sensual than the inner 2/3. As far as the male genitals are concerned, although the size varies greatly when flaccid, the difference is reduced after erection. Generally speaking, after erection, it can greatly exceed the depth of 1/3 of the inner and outer segments of the vagina. Therefore, the decisive factor in women's sexual needs is definitely not the size of the male genitals.

Another important physiological feature of the vagina is that it is surrounded by rich muscles, called pubococcygeus muscles.

There are no secretory glands in the vagina itself.
