There are small bumps inside the areola during breastfeeding

Do you have small bumps on your nipples while breastfeeding? Generally speaking, our nipples are not prone to small bumps. What causes this? When women encounter this kind of situation, it may seem foolish at first, but we should pay attention to these small bumps. This small lump of flesh may be caused by a disease. The nipple is a ring of darker pigmented skin around the nipple. The diameter of the nipple is 3 to 4 cm, and the color varies. It is rose red during puberty, and the pigmentation increases during pregnancy and lactation, turning it dark red. It keeps getting heavier during pregnancy and never fades. However, the color of nipples varies from person to person, and it is not possible to simply judge how much sexual experience a woman has had or whether she has given birth based on the color of her nipples. It is normal to have small bumps on the nipples, but sometimes they are also a sign of some gynecological diseases:

1. Small bumps on the nipples may be neurofibromas: they are often part of systemic fibromatosis, with groups of soft or light brown melanin-filled hanging lumps growing from the nipples and nipple areas, without any discomfort. The epidermis is often composed of scattered, close lumps and pigmentation spots. Surgery to remove it is usually not required. If it is large, ulcerated, or affects the appearance, it can be partially removed.

2. Small bumps on the nipples may be breast lipoma: it is the most common malignant tumor of the epidermis and can occur in any structure with adipose tissue, but is most common in the epidermis and breast. It mostly occurs in obese female patients, and the age of onset is more common between 30 and 50 years old. It manifests as a single, annular or divided soft lump with clear boundaries, slow growth and rarely worsens. Treatment is mainly surgical removal. However, surgical treatment should be complete; if there is any residue, it will eventually lead to an attack. The removed tissue should be submitted to pathological examination to avoid misdiagnosis due to combination with other tumors.

3. Small bumps on the nipples may be soft fibromas: also known as skin tags or chemical fibroepithelial papilloma or fibrolipoma. It mostly occurs in the nipple area. The surface of the tumor is basically the same as the surrounding skin. It has a pedicle connected to the skin and is soft in texture. If the skin tag is large and affects the appearance, it needs to be removed from the pedicle, including some normal tissue.

It turns out that a small pimple can indicate so many problems. Therefore, we should not underestimate the pimples on the nipples and should pay attention to them. Once we delay the treatment, it will be very difficult to deal with in the middle and late stages. In fact, whether it is a problem with the nipple or any other abnormality, we should attach great importance to it and deal with it as soon as possible.
