Persistent hematoma can cause breast pain.

4. Breast pain during pregnancy: Some women experience breast pain around 40 days of pregnancy because the embryo and fur secrete a large amount of female hormones, estrogen and prolactin, which causes breast enlargement. In severe cases, the pain may last throughout the pregnancy. No medical treatment required.

5. Breast pain after giving birth: Breast distension, lumps and pain often occur 3 to 7 days after giving birth. This is mainly due to mammary lymph node retention, venous congestion, interstitial edema and obstruction of mammary gland duct.
