Slight bleeding during pregnancy

Slight bleeding during pregnancy

At 14 weeks of pregnancy, when it is still in the early stages of pregnancy, if women are not careful, it is easy to cause problems with the fetus, such as miscarriage. Bleeding during the 14th week of pregnancy is considered abnormal and should not be taken lightly. So what is the reason for mild bleeding in the second month of pregnancy?

1. External force stimulation

In fact, bleeding at 14 weeks of pregnancy does not necessarily mean miscarriage, it may also be caused by external stimulation. During pregnancy, the uterus and abdomen itself are in a swollen state and will appear very sensitive. Therefore, when performing vaginal examinations, sexual intercourse or lifting objects, it may cause irritation and lead to vaginal bleeding. Sometimes even mild stimulation or light exercise can cause bleeding.

If the bleeding is caused by external stimulation, it can generally be relieved in a short time. At this time, the pregnant mother only needs to take a short rest. But in the future, be careful not to do strenuous work and maintain adequate sleep to prevent adverse symptoms.

2. Ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy is also a cause of bleeding in the 14th week of pregnancy. The so-called ectopic pregnancy means that the sperm and egg combine but the embryo implants outside the uterus. As the gestational sac expands, the extrauterine environment cannot bear it and bleeding will occur. If this situation is not properly handled, not only will there be heavy bleeding, but there will also be abdominal pain, pale complexion, rapid heartbeat, and even a threat to the mother's life in severe cases.

The bleeding form of ectopic pregnancy is usually a small amount of vaginal bleeding, but as time goes by, the condition becomes more serious and there is also rupture of abdominal capillaries, accompanied by abdominal pain. If you suspect an ectopic pregnancy, you must see a doctor immediately for examination. After the diagnosis, you must undergo surgery immediately to prevent the condition from getting worse.

3. Hydatidiform mole

This is also the cause of bleeding at 14 weeks of pregnancy. The so-called hydatidiform mole refers to the proliferation of villous trophoblasts in the embryo after pregnancy, high edema between the interstitial tissues, and the formation of blisters of varying sizes. The blisters are connected in clusters and shaped like grapes, also known as small vesicular fetal masses. Once it is confirmed to be a hydatidiform mole, an abortion is required, and the villi in the uterus must be removed. In addition, the direct human chorionic gonadotropin index in the body needs to be followed up for half a year to see if it is normal.

Most pregnant women with hydatidiform mole will experience nausea, vomiting, or abnormal vaginal bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy, and may also discharge dark brown secretions. Bleeding is more or less possible, but if not treated in time, it can easily cause a lot of bleeding. In addition, fullness of glucose will cause lower abdominal pain.

4. Miscarriage

If you have a miscarriage in the early stages of pregnancy, there may also be bleeding and lower abdominal pain. It is recommended to seek medical treatment immediately once bleeding occurs to see whether it is a threatened miscarriage or a complete miscarriage. If it is a threatened miscarriage, there is still a chance of preserving the fetus, but if it is a complete miscarriage, immediate surgical curettage is required to prevent tissue residue.
