Why does the body temperature rise before the period?

Menstruation is a physiological phenomenon that everyone is familiar with. During the menstrual cycle, a woman's body temperature fluctuates. Often the body temperature is slightly lower in the first half of the menstrual period and slightly higher in the second half. This situation makes many women feel very worried, worrying about various medical problems. Let's discuss why the body temperature rises before menstruation?

This is because the uterus and ovaries, in addition to the ovulation period, also secrete growth hormones, mainly estrogen and estradiol. Before ovulation, the key is the growth and development of the egg, which is dominated by the secretion of estrogen. The egg after ovulation produces progesterone, and the lutein produces two hormones, namely estrogen and estradiol. Estrogen can stimulate the body's temperature nerve center, causing the body temperature to rise slightly. The body temperature of a normal woman can rise by 0.3-0.5 degrees Celsius after ovulation.

We can measure the changes in body temperature by checking the ovulation temperature. The method is to measure the body temperature by yourself when you wake up after sleeping for more than 6-15 hours, but before doing any activities. After waking up, record the measured body temperature in the ovulation temperature sheet, and do it every day to draw a curve.

The normal curve is slightly lower before ovulation and the lowest during ovulation; after ovulation, due to the thermogenic effect of estrogen, the body temperature is higher than that in the follicular phase. Therefore, the normal curve is biphasic. The anovulatory menstrual cycle lacks estrogen and there is no such periodic change, and the body temperature is consistently monophasic.

In order to have a healthy body, women need to maintain a comfortable mood and a cheerful mentality in their daily lives. Every woman must first learn to adjust herself, reduce stress, and eliminate all kinds of adverse mental stimulation.

Women's resistance is generally lower during menstruation. If they catch a cold, feel tired, or stay up late during menstruation, they may have a fever or a cold. In addition, symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion may also occur. If the patient has the above symptoms, some anti-fever and cold drugs should be used for treatment to promote fever and cold recovery.
