6 Meridians of Women's Legs

6 Meridians of Women's Legs

As the temperature gets colder, many people are suffering from "cold legs" again. Although it has the word "old" in its name, "cold legs" are not exclusive to the elderly. Nowadays, more and more young people, especially women, have joined the "cold legs" soldiers. The reason is that they expose their legs to air-conditioned rooms for a long time in summer and do not wear autumn trousers in pursuit of "beauty and freezing" in winter.

“Fire is above and cold is below”, the cool air sinks downwards. After the cool air enters the body, it will sink from the buttocks to the roots of the thighs, popliteal fossa, and feet. Therefore, the legs are the base of cool air!

Cold legs, not just "cold legs"

Cold legs can cause "cold legs", but the harm of cold legs is far more than "cold legs". It is even more terrible than cold uterus and can cause various symptoms.

1. Gynecological diseases

The legs are the "traffic arteries" where three meridians converge: the Taiyin spleen meridian of the foot (the spleen controls blood), the Shaoyin kidney meridian of the foot (the kidney produces blood), and the Jueyin liver meridian of the foot (the liver stores blood). This meridian has many important gynecological acupoints, such as Xuehai, Diji, Sanyinjiao, etc.

Once the feet are exposed to cold, blood stasis will occur immediately, and the blood qi will not be able to flow smoothly, which will directly cause women to have scanty menstruation, delayed menstruation, dysmenorrhea, and even amenorrhea. Blood stasis in the pelvis will immediately cause pelvic polyps, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, etc.

2. Heart disease

The body's blood circulates through the arteries and veins. The venous return of the feet mainly depends on the contraction of the leg muscles. Therefore, taking good care of the calves is equivalent to adding a "pump" under the body to help the heart. Cold legs will affect the contraction function of the leg muscles, and the venous blood that accumulates waste will not be able to flow back to the heart through the capillaries, venules, and veins. In the long run, it will cause heart disease.

3. Decline

According to Chinese medicine, people have "four roots" - earlobe, nose bridge, breast base, and heel, and the root of the "four roots" is the heel. “When a person gets old, his feet become weak first; when a tree withers, its roots die first.” Only when the feet are healthy and the meridians are unobstructed can blood and qi be fully delivered to every organ in the body and life activities can proceed normally. On the contrary, if the legs are cold for a long time, the speed and accuracy of command transmission between the feet and the brain will soon decrease, which will affect the health of the whole body and shorten life.

4. Dissipate moisture in the body

The feet are responsible for storing blood, and 50% of the body's nerves, blood vessels, and blood are concentrated in the legs. When the legs are cold, they come into contact with moisture in the body and immediately drive each other to produce dampness and cold.

Dampness is the main turbid evil with substance. It is similar to water and belongs to Yin, and the lower part of the body is also Yin. Like attracts like, so when dampness and turbidity cause disease, it often harms the lower part of the body. Common diseases such as edema and eczema are more common in the lower limbs.

The calf is the main position of the spleen meridian. The spleen is responsible for transporting and transforming water, so the edema caused by spleen deficiency is mainly reflected in the legs. Symptoms such as sore and swollen calves, weak legs, and edema in the lower limbs are mostly manifestations of water accumulation.

5. Heat on the upper body and cold on the lower body

Cold causes contraction and stagnation. When the legs are cold, blood will immediately stagnate, causing poor circulation in the feet. The energy in the feet will be blocked, and where will the energy that doesn't need to be released go? It can only go up, and the upper body will immediately become too hot, making the person prone to getting inflamed. Over time, a physical condition of upper body heat and lower body cold will develop.

If we analyze it more deeply, the 6 meridians in the foot - spleen meridian, spleen meridian, liver meridian, liver and gallbladder meridian, bladder meridian, and liver and gallbladder meridian - are responsible for the body's metabolism and detoxification. Therefore, if the feet are cold and blocked, the internal organs of the upper body are prone to problems. In other words, maintaining the feet is equivalent to maintaining the internal organs.

In early winter, moxibustion should be used immediately to remove leg coldness.

During the dog days, people have repeatedly emphasized that everyone should do more moxibustion to get rid of cold legs. Most of the moxibustion friends who have seized the opportunity of Sanfu moxibustion have already seen the actual effect. It is the beginning of winter now, and the wind is blowing colder and colder, and dampness can invade at any time and anywhere, so moxa treatment is urgent! Especially those who have not done Sanfu moxibustion, you should take positive action at this time!

In order to get rid of cold legs, it is necessary to dispel cold and dampness, promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, warm the meridians and dredge the collaterals. The pure yang power of moxa is the best choice. Moxa can continuously force qi and blood into the legs and drive away the cold. Therefore, moxibustion is the best way to get rid of cold legs! At this time, moxibustion on the legs will receive the following benefits:

Drop to remove cold and dampness

Develop and strengthen the Qi and blood in the feet, guard the safe passage for cool air to enter the body, prevent the invasion of cool air, and drive out the cold and dampness of the years!

Blood pressure nourishes the essence and replenishes Yin

"The Yellow Emperor's Classic of Internal Medicine" tells us to "nourish yin in autumn and winter". The spleen meridian, spleen meridian, and liver meridian in the feet are all penis meridians, which are all meridians that nourish yin. Therefore, moxibustion on the yin-tonifying acupoints (such as Sanyinjiao, Taixi, and Fuliu) can nourish the essence and replenish yin, especially people with yang deficiency should do more moxibustion on the legs.

Blood leads fire downward

Some moxibustion patients often get inflamed after moxibustion. Moxibustion on the legs can lead the liver fire in the upper body to the soles of the feet, clear away the internal heat, alleviate the symptoms of getting inflamed after moxibustion, and maintain a balance between heat and cold in the body.

Supplements to promote body detoxification

The Yongquan point on the sole of the foot is the least acupuncture point in the human body and also the least "sewage outlet" in the body. It is known as the "all-round body detoxification point". Moxibustion on the leg can promote the downward movement of deposited endotoxins in the body and discharge them through the Yongquan point!

To get rid of leg coldness by moxibustion, choose these several acupoints!

There are many acupoints on the legs, and it is definitely impossible to moxibustion them all at once. According to the climatic characteristics of winter and the physical characteristics of women, it is recommended to moxibustion the following acupoints: Xuehai, Zusanli, Yinlingquan, Sanyinjiao, Taixi, Taichong, and Yongquan.

1. Xuehai Point: It promotes blood circulation, removes blood stasis and replenishes blood. It is a must-have for scanty menstruation, amenorrhea and uterine fibroids!

Xuehai point is located at the root of the thigh, 2 inches above the inner end of the patellar base, at the protrusion of the inner head of the quadriceps femoris; bend your knee to select the point. (There are two holes, one above and one below)

2. Zusanli Point: Improves the gastrointestinal ability to transport, transform and produce blood. Moxibustion is necessary for those with poor gastrointestinal function and deficiency of Qi and blood!

The Zusanli point is located on the front sides of the calf, 3 inches below the calf nose and one finger width away from the outer edge of the ankle joint. (There are two holes, one above and one below)

3. Yinlingquan Point: It belongs to the spleen meridian point, and moxibustion is necessary to remove dampness!

The Yinlingquan point is located on the inner side of the calf, in the depression just below the inner condyle of the ankle joint. (There are two holes, one above and one below)

4. Sanyinjiao Point: Regulates the spleen, liver, and kidneys, and must be treated with moxibustion for gynecological diseases!

Sanyinjiao point is located three inches directly above the tip of the inner ankle, on the edge of the ankle joint. (There are two holes, one above and one below)

5. Taixi Point: It nourishes kidney water and is the most nourishing acupuncture point in the body. It is a must-have for infertility, kidney deficiency, and scanty menstruation!

6. Taichong Point: Moxibustion is a must for those suffering from liver qi discomfort and breast pain!

Taichong point is located between the bones of the foot, in the lateral and posterior depression of the first metatarsal space. (There are two holes, one above and one below)

7. Yongquan Point: Moxibustion is a must for removing moisture, detoxifying the body, and removing blood stasis!
