Six months pregnant stomach pain

Six months pregnant stomach pain

When a pregnant woman is six months pregnant, her abdomen is already very big. At this time, the pregnant woman's body will experience a lot of discomfort, and even feel some pain in the stomach. If you are a six-month pregnant woman and feel pain, you'd better refer to the content in this article carefully to see what's wrong with your abdomen.

1. What should I do if I have stomach pain during my 6th month of pregnancy?

Don't take chances if you have abdominal pain in six months of pregnancy, because abdominal pain in six months of pregnancy can be divided into physiological abdominal pain and physiological abdominal pain, so expectant mothers should still be cautious.

1. Physiological stomach pain

During pregnancy, the uterus enlarges and the round ligament of the uterus is stretched, and many expectant mothers experience some abdominal pain. This type of pain is mostly located on one or both sides of the uterus in the lower abdomen, presenting as referred pain, dull pain or dull pain. The pain will become more obvious when walking a long distance or changing posture. Expectant mothers don’t need to worry, the symptoms can be relieved by resting in bed more. In addition, excessive exertion during sexual intercourse in the second trimester of pregnancy can also cause stomach pain in pregnant women, so sexual intercourse between couples should be moderate.

2. Physiological stomach pain

As the baby grows during pregnancy, the pressure in the mother's abdomen also increases. If a pregnant woman's esophageal fissure (the fissure through which the esophagus slides down to connect with the stomach) widens, she may develop a hiatal hernia and suffer from stomach pain. At this time, abdominal pain is often accompanied by symptoms such as chest tightness and shortness of breath, chest pain, acid reflux in the stomach, and hiccups. The incidence of hiatal hernia during pregnancy is about 30~50%, and the symptoms are sometimes more obvious in the late pregnancy.

Therefore, expectant mothers are advised to: eat small and frequent meals, and eat less sweet, spicy, or sticky foods; do not lie flat on the bed or too low after meals, and try to avoid lowering your head to relieve acid reflux in the stomach; maintain smooth bowel movements. If you find that you have gastric reflux symptoms, try to raise your upper body about 20 degrees.

Generally speaking, this is physiological pain and does not require special treatment. Sleeping on the left side during pregnancy can help relieve the pain. If an expectant mother suddenly feels persistent severe pain in the lower abdomen, it may be a sign of premature birth or uterine rupture. It is recommended to observe this situation carefully. If the stomach pain is severe, you should see a doctor as soon as possible and do an ultrasound to rule out the possibility of abnormalities.
