What are the effects of amniotic fluid pollution on the baby?

There are various reasons for amniotic fluid pollution. What effects does amniotic fluid pollution have on the fetus? Regarding this issue, relevant personnel said that babies who inhale contaminated amniotic fluid of pregnant women have lower indicators than children, which means that these children are more likely to have abnormalities in all aspects. Therefore parents must pay attention.

What are the effects of amniotic fluid pollution on the fetus?

If the amniotic fluid of a pregnant mother is contaminated during pregnancy, the fetus may suffer from severe pneumonia, and language and emotional abnormalities may be more likely to occur.

The subjects were aged between 22 and 37 years old. The level of amniotic fluid contamination was as follows: 227 cases (37.1%) had grade I environmental contamination, 232 cases (37.9%) had grade II turbidity, and 153 cases (25.0%) had grade III turbidity. We call the colorless and transparent liquid surrounding the baby in the uterus amniotic fluid. The presence of meconium in the amniotic fluid of a pregnant woman means that the amniotic fluid is contaminated. The solution is to perform a cesarean section to deliver the baby as soon as possible to prevent the fetus from suffocating to death.

There are various reasons for amniotic fluid contamination. In addition to the inevitable genetic mutation, it is also related to air pollution, viral infection, older pregnant women or those suffering from diabetes, incompatible blood types, pregnancy-induced hypertension, anemia, etc.

Amniotic fluid contamination is closely related to pneumonia

Babies are most afraid of pneumonia, but studies have found that babies whose amniotic fluid is contaminated are prone to the terrible aspiration pneumonia.

Doctors said that pregnant women with increased environmental pollution will have abnormal heart rates, genetic mutations, and decline in their fetuses, and the apnea rate of their newborns will increase significantly. Insufficient oxygen aggravates the fetus's breathing movements, and the polluted amniotic fluid of the pregnant woman is inhaled, resulting in neonatal aspiration pneumonia after birth.

Three such patients were recorded on the first page of scientific research materials. One of the baby girls had a fever for 4 days and convulsions for 1 day after birth. Her body temperature was 39.8℃, she was unconscious, and her skin was yellow. This was considered to be a "central nervous system infection caused by amniotic fluid contamination." The doctor provided oxygen, anti-infection drugs, and dehydration treatments. However, his condition continued to worsen and he died due to ineffective treatment.

Of course, some pregnant women have good newborn growth because they are less exposed to environmental pollution and have no obvious oxygen deficiency.
