Does a protruding belly button mean that you are pregnant with a boy?

Whether a pregnant woman's belly button is protruding cannot be used as a basis for determining whether the baby is a boy or a girl. As we all know, tissue cells carry 23 pairs of 46 sex chromosomes, 22 of which are autosomes and the other pair are chromosomes. Men's chromosomes are XY and women's chromosomes are XX. When a man is in estrus, the somatic cells in his testicles will divide into sperm, each of which carries 23 sex chromosomes.

In other words, half of them must contain X and half of them must contain Y. Women have 2 X chromosomes, so their egg cells can only contain X and autosomes. That way, when a Y-containing sperm fuses with an egg, it results in a boy, and when an X-containing sperm fuses with an egg, it results in a girl.

Therefore, whether a pregnant woman will give birth to a boy or a girl has been decided at the moment the sperm and egg combine. External symptoms are only a guess, and even if some of them are correct, it is only a matter of probability.

Why do some pregnant women have protruding belly buttons?

Some pregnant women are relatively thin. As they enter the second half of pregnancy, the fetus becomes stronger and stronger. The umbilicus of the increasingly enlarged belly is squeezed by the uterus and produces pressure, causing the belly button to bulge.

In addition, this is also related to the natural growth and development of the pregnant woman's belly button. If the belly button is not naturally well developed, pregnant women with umbilical hernia are prone to having a protruding belly button due to the support force from the abdomen during pregnancy, which has nothing to do with the gender of the fetus.
