High-risk pregnancy terminology

Pregnancy is of great significance to a family. For women, it also means the joy of being a mother and the inevitable physical test. Are you a pregnant mother under 16 or over 35 years old? Have you ever experienced premature birth, miscarriage, stillbirth, etc.? If so, then you have a high-risk pregnancy. What does high-risk pregnancy mean, and what other types of pregnancy are classified as high-risk?

What is a high-risk pregnancy?

High-risk pregnancy, to put it simply, is a pregnancy with higher risks. High-risk pregnancy is also known as pregnancy period. High-risk pregnancy will have higher risk factors for pregnancy and fetus, which may cause dystocia for pregnant women and/or seriously harm maternal and child products. This condition is called high-risk pregnancy. Pregnant women with high-risk pregnancy factors are called high-risk pregnant women.

Pregnant women suffering from various chronic diseases and cesarean section indications, as well as unfavorable natural environment and social factors, can all cause fetal death, fetal intrauterine growth retardation, developmental malformations, premature births, neonatal screening, etc., posing a high risk factor, thereby increasing the perinatal morbidity and mortality rates.

The morbidity and mortality rates of pregnant women and newborns in high-risk pregnancies are significantly higher than those in normal pregnancies. Therefore, every pregnant mother should go to the hospital for regular check-ups, cooperate with the selection of high-risk pregnancy, carry out systematic management during pregnancy, ensure early prevention, early detection, and early treatment, and promptly and effectively control the development of high-risk factors to avoid various risk conditions that may cause the death of the fetus and pregnant woman. To ensure that the mother and the baby go through the pregnancy and delivery period smoothly.

Symptoms of high-risk pregnancy

High-risk pregnancy is risky and has a higher risk of developing cancer than normal pregnancy. There will always be some symptoms. Let's take a look at what symptoms may appear.

1. Spontaneous miscarriage. Spontaneous abortion refers to miscarriage caused by natural circumstances (not caused by human intention), when the pregnancy ends before 28 weeks and the baby weighs less than 1000g. Spontaneous abortion is a common gynecological disease. If not treated promptly, it may cause inflammation and damage to the reproductive organs, or seriously harm the health of the pregnant woman due to internal bleeding, and even threaten her life. In addition, spontaneous abortion is easily confused with some gynecological diseases and should be carefully distinguished.

2. Premature birth is inevitable: In addition to periodic uterine contractions, the chronic phase is getting shorter, the duration is getting longer, and the intensity is increasing, accompanied by cervical receptivity ≥ 75% and cervical dilation ≥ 2cm; or there is progressive cervical receptivity and cervical dilation, accompanied by pink vaginal discharge or placenta rupture, and the condition is similar to full-term pregnancy clinically. 3. More possible symptoms: slow embryo development, embryo termination, fetal intrauterine asphyxia, fetal hydrops, fetal malformation

4. Possible complications: hypertension, kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, and heart disease.
