For women, menstruation can be said to be one of the important signs of whether their body is healthy. Many women who have certain health problems will also have certain symptoms during menstruation. For example, a small amount of bleeding before menstruation is a sign of a sex hormone imbalance or disease in the female body. Below, I will introduce to you the common reasons for a small amount of bleeding before menstruation! 1. Bleeding before menstruation is caused by imbalance of sex hormone secretion The imbalance of sex hormone secretion causes large fluctuations in hormone levels during ovulation, resulting in obvious bleeding. 2. Symptoms of bleeding before menstruation Chronic inflammation of the endometrium or inflammatory thickening of the ovarian surface causes significant endometrial congestion during ovulation, and bleeding is not easy to stop on its own, or the inflammatory thickened follicle surface ruptures and bleeds more than normal, and flows back into the uterine cavity with the peristalsis of the fallopian tube and is discharged from the body through the vagina. Vaginal bleeding visible to the naked eye may last for several hours, or 3 to 5 days, but rarely for more than 7 days. In severe cases, it may continue to occur until the next menstrual period. Some women have very little bleeding, which stops with a few drops, or there is blood mixed in the vagina. Generally, it rarely reaches the amount of menstruation. Bleeding may be accompanied by distension and discomfort, dull pain or obvious pain in one side of the lower abdomen, and may even involve the waist and inner thigh. Symptoms may occur continuously every month or every other month. For some people, they occur for several months each year, while for others, they only experience this phenomenon once in their lifetime. Repeated episodes of ovulation bleeding may affect pregnancy. If this is the case, treatment must be carried out under the guidance of a physician. 3. Other reasons for bleeding before menstruation Spotting a few days before your period, if it only happens once, could be implantation bleeding from the fertilized egg after pregnancy, or occasional bleeding caused by insufficient progesterone during the luteal phase. However, if spotting occurs repeatedly a few days before your period, it could be due to insufficient progesterone during the luteal phase, or endometriosis. Both of these reasons increase the chances of infertility. In a few cases, the cause is organic (meaning actual lesions) such as polyps and myos in the uterus. In addition, people with cervical polyps, ectropion or erosion, and those who have just had an IUD installed are prone to bright red bleeding immediately after sexual intercourse. Some normal women may also have brown punctate bleeding due to endometrial instability caused by the impact of uterine blood circulation during sexual intercourse. But the latter reasons do not usually occur only a few days before menstruation. |
