Is liquid contraceptive gel safe?

Is liquid contraceptive gel safe?

There are many ways of contraception clinically, and most people use condoms to prevent pregnancy, but no matter which contraceptive method is used, there are certain risks. In addition to some common contraceptive methods, there is also liquid contraceptive gel. Liquid contraceptive gel is a less used contraceptive method, so many people are worried about the safety of contraception. So is liquid contraceptive gel safe?

1. Female contraceptive liquids are quite effective in contraception, mainly because they can kill bacteria and contraceptives, kill sperm, and also kill other pathogenic bacteria in the vagina. However, compared with traditional condoms, its contraceptive effect is not stable enough, so you should still choose it with caution. The effect of female contraceptive liquid is not stable enough, so it may cause unwanted pregnancy. This can be said to be the biggest side effect of female contraceptive liquid. Because female contraceptive liquid can kill sperm and reduce the motility of sperm, the child born from unwanted pregnancy at this time is very likely to be deformed.

2. The main ingredient of liquid contraceptive gel is spermicide, but it also has a certain chance of failure. It is recommended to develop good living habits, arrange work and rest time reasonably, choose safe and effective contraceptive measures, and avoid unwanted pregnancy. However, I personally think that there is still a certain risk, so I still recommend using ordinary condoms. The contraceptive principle of gel contraception is mainly through a part of the gel, which, after being injected into the female's vagina, forms a thick mucous membrane on the female's cervix. This thick mucous membrane will absorb some sperm, and at the same time, it can prevent the sperm from entering the cervix and combining with the egg. In addition, there is a part of spermicide in the contraceptive gel that can also kill male sperm.

3. The success rate of gel contraception is inseparable from the correct use of gel contraception. When using gel contraception, the contraceptive gel must be injected into the female's vagina half an hour before sexual intercourse. When injecting the gel, you must pay attention to the depth of the injection. If the injection is too shallow, it is likely to cause contraception failure. When injecting the contraceptive gel, the woman's buttocks must be raised with a pillow. The depth of the injection should be at least three centimeters. After the injection of the gel, the woman cannot stand up and must keep the pillow under her buttocks for about 3-10 minutes to allow the contraceptive gel to fully blend in the vagina.
