Pregnant woman with heartburn is pregnant with a boy

Pregnant woman with heartburn is pregnant with a boy

After a woman becomes pregnant, she will fantasize about the baby and will be very curious about the baby's gender. Many older people will guess whether the fetus is a boy or a girl based on the pregnant woman's various reactions. Take heartburn in pregnant women as an example. Many people would think that the chance of having a boy is higher. In fact, this has nothing to do with the gender of the fetus. It is because the enlarged uterus of the pregnant woman puts pressure on the stomach, which causes this feeling of heartburn. Therefore, do not eat foods such as hawthorn, crab, animal liver, etc. during pregnancy.

Is it more likely that a pregnant woman with heartburn will have a boy?

Heartburn during pregnancy has nothing to do with whether the baby is a boy or a girl. This is because the fetus grows during pregnancy, the uterus enlarges, and presses on the stomach. It is recommended to eat small meals frequently and eat more soft and easily digestible foods.

What is heartburn in late pregnancy?

Heartburn is also called acid reflux or stomach acid. During pregnancy, the placenta secretes progesterone, which relaxes the smooth muscles of the uterus, but this hormone also loosens the valve that separates the esophagus and stomach (also called the cardia), causing stomach acid to reflux into the esophagus and produce a burning sensation. At the same time, progesterone also slows down the wave-like contractions of the esophagus and intestines, slowing down digestion. The growing baby will also squeeze the expectant mother's abdominal cavity, "pushing" stomach acid back into the esophagus, causing the pregnant mother to feel heartburn.

1. Let your wife eat small meals frequently. This can reduce the burden on the stomach and avoid overeating. The more food in the stomach, the easier it is for it to reflux into the esophagus and cause heartburn.

2. Avoid your wife from eating foods and drinks that may cause gastrointestinal discomfort, usually including: carbonated drinks, alcohol (in any case, you should not drink alcohol during pregnancy), coffee, chocolate, acidic foods (including citrus fruits and juices, tomatoes, mustard, etc.), cooked meats, mint foods, spicy, strong-flavored, fried or high-fat foods.

3. Let your wife eat less spicy, overly cold or overly hot food, as they will irritate the esophageal mucosa and aggravate heartburn.

Why do pregnant women have heartburn and acid reflux?

1. In the early stages of pregnancy, the HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) level in the expectant mother's body will rise rapidly and will not begin to decline until the 12th week of pregnancy. This may cause the expectant mother to experience symptoms such as heartburn and vomiting.

2. In the late pregnancy, as the pregnant mother's uterus continues to grow, it will press upward on the stomach, increasing the pressure in the stomach and slowing down the rate of gastric emptying, causing gastric juice and chyme to stay in the stomach for a longer time. It is also easy for gastric acid to reflux into the lower esophagus, causing heartburn.

What to do if pregnant women have heartburn and acid reflux:

1. To enhance nutrition, you should choose foods that are easily digestible, contain sufficient calories, and are rich in protein and vitamins. Such as porridge, thin noodles, soft rice, soy milk, eggs, lean meat, tofu and soy products; foods rich in vitamins A, B, C, such as fresh vegetables and fruits.

2. Eating small meals frequently can prevent your stomach from becoming too full and pushing up on your diaphragm. Try to eat your main meals at lunch and eat dinner earlier so that your body has time to digest the food before going to bed.

3. Do not drink water while eating. This also helps prevent stomach acid and heartburn during pregnancy. Because water dilutes your gastric juices, thereby weakening the digestive effect. However, be sure to drink water between meals.

What not to eat during pregnancy:

First, high-calorie foods

Eating too much high-calorie food during pregnancy will not only fail to provide nutrition to the body, but may also cause a certain burden on the body. Common high-calorie foods include barbecue, soda, canned food, preserves, biscuits, fried food, etc.

Second, tender hot pot

When eating hot pot, the ingredients are simply blanched in the pot and then eaten. Many parasites hidden in the meat cannot be killed and thus enter the human body. Pregnant women who often eat hot pot are prone to parasite infection, which can be transmitted to the fetus through the placenta. The fetus is prone to deformities and in more serious cases, the baby may be lost.

Third, foods that can easily cause miscarriage

Many foods can easily cause miscarriage in pregnant women after being consumed, such as common purslane, crab, turtle, aloe vera, coix seed, almond, black fungus, etc.

Fourth, drinks and condiments

Pregnant women are prone to constipation if they consume too much condiments, which in turn increases abdominal pressure, causing compression of the fetus and possibly leading to fetal movement disorders. Most beverages contain hormones, which can easily cause fetal malformations when consumed by pregnant women.

Fifth, certain supplements

In addition, some supplements cannot be taken casually during pregnancy. For example, ginseng can aggravate morning sickness, cause edema, and induce miscarriage.

What meats should not be eaten during pregnancy?

1. Animal liver

Studies have shown that pregnant women who often eat animal livers during pregnancy are more likely to give birth to fetuses with congenital defects. Although this situation is a matter of probability, for the health of the fetus, it is best not to eat animal liver during pregnancy.

2. Frog meat

Frog meat is hot in nature, so women should not eat it during pregnancy.

3. Crabs

Crabs are cool food, which has the effect of promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. If pregnant women eat them, they can easily cause miscarriage.

4. Rabbit meat

Rabbit head is a cold food. Pregnant women should avoid eating cold food, otherwise it is easy to lose their Yuan Yang.

5. Eel

For ordinary people, eating eels can not only supplement protein and fat, but also have the effect of replenishing weakness. However, eating eels during pregnancy can easily promote heat and wind, which can easily cause discomfort to the fetus and cause fetal movement in pregnant women.

6. Sparrow meat

In ancient times, many men ate sparrow meat to achieve the effect of strengthening their sexual function. Eating sparrow meat during pregnancy can easily cause miscarriage in pregnant women.

What fruits should not be eaten during pregnancy:

First, hawthorn

Although hawthorn is also a sweet and sour food that pregnant women like to eat, it will stimulate the contraction of the female uterus, so pregnant women should try not to eat it or eat less.

Second, papaya

Papaya is cold in nature, and the female hormones it contains will interfere with the hormones in pregnant women. In addition, the papaya glycosides in papaya will cause the uterus of pregnant women to contract, which may lead to premature birth or miscarriage.

Third, grapes

Grapes contain high sugar content, and eating too much of them can easily lead to high blood sugar levels in pregnant women.

Fourth, longan

Pregnant women have a yin deficiency and dryness-heat constitution, and longan is a hot food. Women are prone to internal heat, abdominal pain, etc. if they eat longan during pregnancy.

Fifth, pineapple

Pineapple is rich in proteases that have side effects on human skin and blood vessels. People with allergies are prone to poisoning after eating it, and pregnant women should not eat it.

6. Lychee

People with Yin deficiency should not eat lychees, let alone pregnant women with Yin and blood deficiency. After eating lychees, they are not only prone to constipation, dry mouth and other symptoms, but may also cause spotting and even threatened abortion.
