Buttock pain in early pregnancy

Buttock pain in early pregnancy

Many pregnant friends will experience this kind of situation during pregnancy, that is, pain on one side of the buttocks. The cause of this situation may be caused by the separation of the phalangeal syndesmosis. In medicine, this condition is called phalangeal syndesmosis. If pregnant women experience mild toe bone separation pain in their daily lives, they do not need treatment, just pay more attention in their daily lives.

Pain on one side of the buttocks in the early stages of pregnancy is generally caused by separation of the pubic symphysis, which is medically called "pubic symphysis pain". When not pregnant, the distance between the female pubic symphysis is 4-5mm. After pregnancy, the ligaments of the pregnant mother become loose, resulting in a slight separation of the pubic symphysis, which increases the elasticity of the pelvis, provides more space for the fetus in the late pregnancy, and helps the fetus pass smoothly during delivery. Generally speaking, increasing the spacing by 2-3mm is enough. Normal pubic symphysis separation will not make pregnant mothers feel uncomfortable, and after delivery, the distance between the pubic symphysis will gradually decrease and will return to its pre-delivery state in about 1-3 months.

But there are always unexpected things. For some pregnant mothers, due to some factors, the pubic symphysis is separated too much, so that the distance between the pubic symphysis exceeds 10mm, or the distance between the pubic symphysis exceeds 6mm after postpartum recovery. In this case, the pregnant mother will feel strong pain in the pubic symphysis, which will cause pain in the perineum and thigh roots. The pain is especially severe when one leg is put under stress, such as walking up stairs, putting on pants, or turning over. Mild pubic separation pain does not require treatment.

Pregnant mothers can solve this problem by paying more attention in their daily lives:

1. Do not sit or stand for a long time: Pregnant mothers who are still working should get up and walk around after sitting for a long time. It is best to put a harder lumbar pillow on the seat so that the waist has a support point. It is more convenient for pregnant mothers waiting to give birth at home. When you are tired of standing, sit for a while. When you are tired of sitting, lie down for a while.

2. If you feel pain in your buttocks and thighs, you can apply ice to the pubic symphysis, massage it for five minutes, and repeat several times. The pain will be relieved a lot.

3. Sleep on your left side, preferably with a pillow between your legs. When moving in bed, first put your legs together, support your body with your hands, and then move slowly.

4. Activities such as swimming and yoga are also helpful in preventing and relieving pubic separation pain.

In addition to pubic symphysis pain, anemia, calcium deficiency or malnutrition may also cause pain in the buttocks and groin. It may also be caused by the compression of nerves in the lumbar spine due to the growth of the fetus as the age increases.

During pregnancy, you should eat more fruits and vegetables, and get more sun exposure. If necessary, it is best to do a routine blood test and trace element test. You can change your body position frequently to reduce joint and muscle fatigue, wear flat shoes to maintain your body balance, and have regular prenatal check-ups.
