Women's breast changes after giving birth

Childbirth is one of the most important things in a woman's life. When giving birth, many women feel that their bodies are changing. This is mainly caused by the increase of estrogen in the female body, which will be reflected in the female's appearance. Breasts are one of the most important sexual characteristics of women. Most women are very concerned about changes in their breasts. So what changes will occur in women's breasts after giving birth?

Why do breasts become deformed after childbirth?

There are many reasons for breast deformation, and it does not necessarily occur after childbirth. It may be due to human tissue aging, or it may be due to dieting, resulting in insufficient subcutaneous fat. But generally speaking, breast deformation after childbirth is possible.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, since the breasts belong to the spleen and stomach meridians and the nipples belong to the liver meridian, the heavy blood loss after childbirth and the mother's provision of calcium to the fetus during pregnancy can deplete kidney qi and lead to insufficient qi and blood in the liver and kidneys. In addition, poor spleen and stomach function leads to the inability to absorb nutrients. These factors are enough to cause insufficient qi and blood, causing breast atrophy or sagging. Therefore, if you want your breasts to return to their original appearance after childbirth, you must nourish the spleen, liver, and kidneys.

According to Western medicine, the reduction in breast size after childbirth is related to hormones. There are two reasons for this: one is the reduction in fat, and the other is breast obstruction, which causes the milk line to shrink due to the influence of hormones. Of course, the original physical constitution also plays a big role. Some people's breasts are even prettier than before after giving birth and weaning, but they are a minority after all. Therefore, nutrition during the postpartum confinement period is very important.

Why do some people's breasts get bigger after giving birth while others get smaller?

This is an interesting phenomenon. There is currently no definite medical report showing that there is an absolute correlation between changes in breast size before and after childbirth. But there is a saying: those who originally had larger breasts are more likely to have their breasts shrink after giving birth; those who originally had smaller breasts are more likely to have their breast cup size increase after giving birth. For mothers whose cup size will be slightly increased, in addition to congratulations, it may be explained that "the breasts have developed again and become larger due to the stimulation of pregnancy."

Postpartum breast enlargement is temporary

During breastfeeding, the breasts swell and firm rapidly. With regular breastfeeding, the breasts will fill and empty regularly, then fill and empty again. The more abundant the mother's milk secretion, the more obvious the change in breast size will be, so some people jokingly say: "When the milk is swollen, it is an E cup, and when the milk is weaning, it is a B cup." If you do not breastfeed after giving birth, or no longer breastfeed, you must face the problem of milk withdrawal. As a result of milk withdrawal and postpartum weight loss, the size of your breasts is bound to change. Experts say: "If you lose weight completely after giving birth and return to your pre-pregnancy weight, theoretically your breasts will return to their original size. They will not get bigger or smaller."

Why do breasts become smaller after childbirth?

Experts believe that the reduction in breast size after childbirth is probably due to breast aging and sagging. Usually the following two situations are most likely to occur:

1. The more weight a woman gains during pregnancy, the larger her breasts will become. If the mother is older, her recovery ability will be poorer and her skin elasticity will be worse. Once she loses weight completely after giving birth, the chance of sagging will increase, and her breasts will naturally become smaller in appearance.

2. Postpartum slimming is for those who want to lose weight quickly in a short period of time; if the over-inflated breasts shrink quickly, it is easy to cause skin relaxation, aging and sagging. In short, slow and planned postpartum weight loss, coupled with moderate breast massage and exercise, will prevent your breasts from fluctuating like a roller coaster.

Pregnancy is the second stage of breast development

It is hard to believe for those who have not experienced it personally, but even if you have given birth to a child, improper care can cause your breasts to become small and shriveled.

The breast is composed of rich glands, which are composed of 15-25 mammary lobules and are embedded in fibrous tissue and fat. Fat gives the breasts a protrusion, and the breast tissue is supported by ligaments from the chest wall to the skin. From the moment the fertilized egg implants, along with the changes in hormones in the body, the breasts also respond accordingly, such as increased breast tissue and fat reserves. This is a natural function given to humans by nature. Its function is to adapt to the need for breastfeeding after childbirth. However, this period is similar to the process of secondary sexual characteristics development in girlhood. Therefore, for women, pregnancy is actually an excellent opportunity to enlarge and beautify breasts and allow them to develop again.
