Can still produce milk after three years of weaning

You cannot express milk three years after weaning. Milk will flow back during weaning, so the breasts will no longer secrete milk. If you can still express milk three years after weaning, it is caused by breast nodules and hormone disorders. For women who can still express milk three years after weaning, it is best to go to the hospital for examination to avoid diseases such as breast cancer and breast nodules. Breast massage is also required.

There are two possibilities. One is the secretion of a small amount of milk from the breast, and the other is the inflammatory secretion from the breast nodules. You can go to the hospital for a check-up and analyze the fluid squeezed out of the breast under the fibroid to see its composition clearly. If it is a trace amount of milk secreted, which is often seen in clinical practice, it is not pathological and does not require treatment. This is because the effects of hormones on the breasts still exist and there are no adverse consequences. If it is inflammatory milk duct discharge, it needs to be treated with antibiotics, such as ceftriaxone sodium.

What is the mechanism of breast milk production and absorption? How to induce lactation and wean off breast milk scientifically?

The human body is amazing. After your baby is born, your mammary glands begin to produce milk. Every time the baby drinks up the milk in the breast, the mammary glands will secrete more milk to meet the baby's suction needs. Similarly, if the baby cannot finish the milk at one time, the breasts will produce less milk. Therefore, when weaning, do not stimulate the mammary glands too much. Allow the body to slowly adapt and absorb, and allow the body to slowly stop breastfeeding and wean.

Some mothers suffer from insufficient milk supply, constantly take supplements during breastfeeding, and are keen to find lactation consultants to stimulate milk production. In fact, the effects of taking supplements and lactation consultants are not that great. Supplements ultimately benefit the mother, while lactation consultants mainly promote milk secretion by emptying the milk in the mammary glands. In fact, the same effect can be achieved by letting the baby suck more or the mother expressing milk frequently.

Some mothers may ask, what should I do if I let the baby suck more, express more milk, and have a lactation consultant help me produce milk, but there is still very little milk? In fact, breast milk secretion is also affected by the mood of the mother. If the mother is in a bad mood, suffers from postpartum depression, etc., it will also lead to less breast milk secretion or even milk dryness. In terms of diet, try to avoid foods that may cause milk-reducing effects, such as malt, fermented black beans, and star fruit.

Therefore, breastfeeding mothers should try to maintain a good mood (I would like to mention all the husbands here, try to make the expectant mothers happy), provide more milk for the baby to suck, and do not worry that the baby is not eating enough. If it is really not enough, you can supplement it with milk powder. If you are in a good mood, you will naturally secrete more breast milk.

Three steps to scientific weaning: Taking an 8-month-old baby as an example, the baby should have complementary food 3 times and milk 3 times a day. Assuming that the baby is exclusively breastfed, then when weaning begins, you can follow the following plan:

1. In the first stage, give 3 times of complementary food, 2 times of breast milk, and 1 time of formula milk. Babies who are fully breastfed may resist formula milk at first. It’s okay. Just feed them one meal of formula milk. If they don’t eat it, wait until the next meal to feed them. Continue this process for three days until the baby is willing to accept one meal of formula milk a day. When reducing breastfeeding, if the milk is very swollen, you can squeeze out some of it, or apply a hot towel to it, but remember not to empty out all the breast milk, as this will cause the milk to continue to be secreted and will not achieve the effect of gradual weaning. If there is no bloating or pain, you don't need to worry about it. Feed the baby one less time a day and the body will gradually produce less milk, achieving the effect of weaning.

2. In the second stage, give 3 complementary foods as usual, 1 time of breast milk and 2 times of formula milk. If the baby accepts it, you can continue for 4 days. Similarly, if your milk is swollen, you can squeeze out some of it or apply a hot towel. If you don't feel any bloating or pain, ignore it and allow your body to continue to adapt to the lower milk secretion.

3. In the third stage, give complementary food 3 times as usual, formula milk 3 times, and then wean off breast milk. In the third stage, milk secretion will become less and less, and may only increase once a day. If there is no swelling or pain, do not treat it until the body slowly absorbs the milk back. During the weaning period, mothers can eat hawthorn, fermented black beans, malt, white pigeon and other milk-reducing foods, which are effective in helping to reduce milk production.

Blackened residual breast: Will the yellowing and deterioration of residual breast milk lead to breast cancer? Many so-called lactation consultants, beauty salon breast technicians, etc. on the market like to scare people like this. In fact, the country does not have this profession at all, nor does it have any relevant professional certificates. After a period of time after weaning, breastfeeding mothers may squeeze out yellow or salty milk. This is normal because the water content of the milk decreases during the absorption process by the human body, and the milk seems to be concentrated. Breast milk contains sodium, which is also found in normal table salt. As the body absorbs the water in breast milk, the concentration of sodium and fat in the breast milk increases, making the breast milk thicker. Some people squeeze out toothpaste-like milky white, yellow, or even gray salty milk, which is normal.

Many lactation consultants or breast technicians use these characteristics of breast milk to scare people. In fact, the residual milk will eventually be absorbed back into the body and will not cause any harm to the human body.

If there is no mastitis during weaning, or if there is blood in the milk, there is really no need to drain the residual milk. Cancer is not caused by residual milk. Don't be deceived by these merchants.
