IVF will make you age faster

In vitro fertilization is also a production technology that is becoming more and more mature in clinical medicine. Therefore, more and more couples choose to have in vitro fertilization, mainly because it provides the possibility of childbirth for couples who have difficulty in conceiving. However, there are many different opinions about IVF among the people. Many people say that if women have IVF, they will age very quickly. Is this true?

Do women who do IVF age faster?

This is absolute nonsense. Women are born with 1 million to 2 million eggs, but only 300,000 to 400,000 eggs are left when they enter puberty. A new batch of eggs develops every month during the reproductive period, but only one egg is fully mature and released in the end. Therefore, generally only 400 to 500 eggs will mature and be ovulated in a woman's lifetime.

Why is it said that IVF has nothing to do with premature aging of women?

Because, although we need to promote a batch of follicles to mature at the same time in IVF, we are actually "utilizing waste" because in normal physiology, when only one egg is released in a menstrual cycle, the other follicles in that batch unfortunately become "runners-up". They fail to mature and thus die and close. The purpose of our IVF is to make the "runner-up" follicles become the protagonists and use drugs to make them all develop. Therefore, it will not affect the follicle reserve in your ovaries at all. So what does it have to do with "premature aging"?

Does promoting ovulation increase breast cancer risk?

In recent years, there have been false reports that ovulation increases the risk of cancer, and rumors that the star had breast cancer because she had undergone multiple IVF treatments. In fact, breast cancer mainly occurs in women with breast cancer genes. In addition, bad living habits can also increase the risk of breast cancer. Like normal people, breast cancer patients undergo IVF and some will, the research results of Swedish scientists show that for women with cervical cancer, the risk of fallopian tube in situ and breast cancer is lower than that of normal people, so IVF itself does not increase the risk of breast cancer. You can rest assured.

Do IVF babies have birth defects?

Babies conceived through IVF, whether using sperm, eggs or eggs from intended parents, have the same rates of healthy births and birth defects as babies conceived naturally. The only difference is that PGSPGD testing is performed before IVF embryo implantation to minimize chromosomal abnormalities and family and genetic embryo implantation, thereby optimizing the health of the blastocyst and giving birth to a healthy baby.

With natural pregnancy, amniocentesis is required after 18 weeks to determine whether the fetus is healthy or not. Therefore, IVF is much better than natural pregnancy in terms of birth defects. In nature, there are many unknown factors that make it impossible to absolutely prevent birth defects, but what is certain is that the more we do, the lower the probability of tragedy!

Is it better to implant more embryos in IVF ?

Some prospective parents believe that the more embryos they implant in their fertility program, the better. In fact, "too much" can bring huge risks to pregnant women and fetuses. Usually when doing IVF embryo transfer, the expectant mother is 1-2 and less than 3, because the woman's uterus is most suitable for the growth of the baby. It has space, nutrition, nutrients and blood that are relatively rich, and the baby population and resource allocation lead to an increased probability of low baby weight, premature birth, miscarriage, etc. So it's better to have one child, twins, three or more. Even if there are occasional reports of the birth of 4 or 5 children, there is no need for prospective parents to imitate and be jealous. The safety and health of mother and child are the most important!

Some parents believe that adding more embryos at a time will greatly increase the implantation rate. Embryo laboratory technology has cultured the embryo into the blastocyst stage. The blastocyst on the fifth day has more than 100 cells, and the implantation rate can be greatly improved, so it is best for the health of the mother and the transplantation of the blastocyst. It is also difficult to target parents if multiple blastocysts are used to reduce the number of children.

About Fetal Reduction Surgery

When multiple births are completed, it affects the health of both the pregnant woman and the fetus. Pregnant women, under the premise of having to reduce the fetus, will naturally worry about whether abortion will affect other fetuses and lead to miscarriage. Reduction surgery does not involve sucking out or shaving the pregnancy sac like an abortion. Instead, it uses only a small needle to expel excess gestational sac or terminate fetal growth. Technically, the excess is quite stable, with little damage, and a large reserve of matrix and gestational sac. So don't worry.

Multiple pregnancies are risky, so there are strict restrictions on the number of embryos to be transplanted. In China, 1 to 3 embryos can be transplanted to increase the chance of pregnancy; but in foreign countries, only 1 to 2 blastocysts are allowed to be transplanted, and sometimes only one blastocyst is recommended. Therefore, foreign test tube babies are not too worried about the impact of fetal reduction surgery.
