Will a normal birth make the vagina loose?

Giving birth is the greatest thing for women, and that moment is also the happiest time. Although natural childbirth is more beneficial to the fetus, the pain women suffer during the process is unbearable. After natural childbirth, women's vagina will become much looser than before. It may recover a little with good care. If the vagina is torn or episiotomy occurs during the delivery process, the recovery time will be longer, and care should be cautious, otherwise vaginal relaxation will affect the quality of the couple's sexual life, and the harmony between the couple will also be affected a little.

Will a normal birth make the lower part loose?

Normal childbirth will cause varying degrees of vaginal relaxation, but it will generally recover within 3 months after delivery, especially for young mothers, who can almost return to their pre-delivery level.

Changes that occur after a vaginal birth include:

1. The elasticity of the muscles inside the vagina changes significantly;

2. Tearing or episiotomy of the perineum can also cause varying degrees of injury;

3. The vaginal opening becomes wide and loose, which may also lead to problems such as blackening and odor;

4. The pelvic ligaments become wider and the uterine opening is slightly larger than before. Relaxation may lead to bacterial invasion and affect ovarian function.

What causes vaginal relaxation?

Vaginal relaxation is related to aging, personal physique and multiple childbirths. Aging and multiple childbirths will cause the muscles in the vagina to recover more slowly and their elasticity to decrease, causing the vagina to become loose. However, vaginal relaxation has little to do with the mode of delivery, and vaginal relaxation will still occur even after a caesarean section.

How to prevent vaginal relaxation after normal delivery?

Performing ani exercises and Kegel exercises after a normal birth are both good ways to prevent vaginal relaxation. It can effectively exercise the pelvic floor muscle groups, enhance the tension of related muscles, increase elasticity, and help the vagina recover better.

1. Anal lifting exercise

The ani lifting exercise refers to regularly lifting the anus upwards and then relaxing it. The lifting and relaxing is the ani lifting exercise. You can do this exercise while standing, sitting or walking, and do it about 50 times each time, lasting for 5-10 minutes.

2. Kegel exercises

Stand with your hands crossed over your shoulders, your toes at 90 degrees, and the insides of your heels as wide as your armpits, squeezing them together. Hold for five seconds, then relax. Repeat this action twenty or more times.

What to pay attention to after giving birth:

1. Get enough rest

Natural childbirth consumes a lot of physical energy, and a good rest helps to restore physical strength and improve the skills of various parts of the body.

2. Adjust your mindset

A good attitude has a great impact on the body's recovery after normal delivery. If you are in a low mood or depressed, it may lead to poor contraction of the uterus and cause postpartum hemorrhage.

3. Pay attention to your diet

After a normal birth, the mother suffers from severe nutritional loss and is weak. Her diet should consist mainly of non-irritating, easily digestible and nutritious foods. She should also drink more soups that can help increase milk secretion.

4. Exercise appropriately

Appropriate exercise can help the tired body recover better after a normal birth, but strenuous exercise is not advisable. It should focus on relaxing the body and exercise step by step.

5. Keep warm

The body is extremely weak after a normal delivery and is easily caught in cold, leading to colds or rheumatism, so you must do a good job of keeping warm.

6. Wound care

Many mothers need episiotomy during normal childbirth. Postoperative wound care is very important. Be sure to keep the wound clean and dry, change sanitary products frequently, and avoid extensive movement.
