Breast nodules birads3

Breast nodules birads3

Many people may not know what disease birads3 breast nodules refer to, but when seeing breast nodules, everyone should know that it is related to breast tissue. This symptom refers to the presence of tumors or nodules in the breast. Its malignancy rate is relatively low and it is generally benign. It can be treated thoroughly, and patients need to undergo a check-up every 6 months, and then undergo surgical treatment for breast nodules.

The Bi-Rads breast grading is a classification by the Radiological Society of North America based on the likelihood of malignancy of tumors or nodules detected by ultrasound, mammography, and MRI. It is usually divided into categories 0-6. Except for category 0 where the diagnosis is unclear, categories 1-6 represent a gradually increasing possibility of malignancy of the nodule. Generally speaking, the possibility of malignancy of bi-rads category 3 nodules is no more than 2%. Usually, smaller category 3 nodules do not require treatment. This classification is only the radiologist's subjective judgment of nodules based on clinical experience, which may have certain errors. Its purpose is to provide clinicians with a reference for treatment.

Is breast birads 3 serious?

Breast birads category 3 is not serious. The possibility of malignancy at this level is less than 2%. The possibility of benign nodules is very high, but it is recommended to have a check-up every 6 months. This is an imaging score used by breast B-ultrasound to determine the benign or malignant degree of breast nodules. It is only a reference for clinicians to diagnose the disease. Given the complexity of the disease, a comprehensive assessment must be made based on a detailed physical examination by a specialist, the patient's age, whether any immediate family members have a history of related tumors, and whether there is a history of surgery. If necessary, a puncture biopsy or direct surgical resection is required.

Management of breast nodules: Which nodules require surgery?

Most breast nodules are benign and do not require surgery. However, Yikangyuan Breast Rehabilitation Center reminds: It is necessary to make a comprehensive judgment based on the patient's age, imaging characteristics of the nodules, and whether there is a need for pregnancy. Some high-risk patients need surgical removal of their nodules:

①. For high-risk patients (family history of breast cancer, history of chest radiotherapy, intraductal papilloma, etc.), surgical resection is recommended.

②. Women aged 40-60 are at high risk of breast cancer. If color Doppler ultrasound or mammography indicates BIR-ADS grading, surgery is recommended for grades 4a or above;

③. For women who are planning to get pregnant and have breast nodules larger than 10mm, surgical treatment is recommended before pregnancy. Prevent tumors from growing larger during pregnancy and lactation, which may make treatment difficult.

Which breast nodules can be treated conservatively?

①. Small cysts and nodules (less than 10mm) can be treated with traditional Chinese medicine, such as Xiaoyao Gualou Powder, Erxian Decoction, etc., which can be appropriately added or subtracted, and have a certain effect.

②. BI-RADS grade is less than or equal to 3, and the mass is less than 1 cm. Recommendation: No surgery is required, and follow-up observation is required after 3-6 months.
