Is pubic separation dangerous?

Is pubic separation dangerous?

In the late stages of pregnancy, various unpredictable problems may occur in the pregnant woman's body, so pregnant women in the late stages of pregnancy also need to go to the hospital regularly for prenatal check-ups. Pubic separation is also a condition that occurs in a small number of pregnant women in the late stages of pregnancy. After pubic separation occurs, doctors will recommend pregnant women to choose a caesarean section. If pregnant women insist on natural childbirth, will there be any danger in this case?

Symphysis pubis separation refers to a soft tissue injury disease in which the pubic fibrocartilaginous symphysis on both sides of the front pelvis undergoes slight misalignment due to external force, resulting in widening of the symphysis pubis or up and down misalignment, causing local pain and difficulty in lifting the lower limbs and other functional disorders. Some people also call it pubic symphysis dislocation.

1. During the delivery process, the mother is afraid to push due to the pain in the pubic symphysis, which leads to poor uterine contractions, affecting the progress of labor, increasing the delivery time, and causing harm to the health of the mother and baby.

2. The condition worsens after childbirth, affecting the mother's physical recovery and leading to a decline in the quality of life after childbirth.

3. Because the mother cannot take care of herself completely after giving birth and her movements are affected, she is prone to anxiety and depression, which increases the incidence of postpartum depression.

4. Pubic symphysis separation affects the mother's feeding of the baby and the emotional communication between mother and child.

Things to note during childbirth:

1. Inform the condition in advance: Before giving birth, the medical staff should be informed of the condition of symphysis pubis separation.

2. Be careful with the delivery posture: You need to be especially careful with the delivery posture and avoid spreading your legs too much during delivery.

3. Avoid invasive delivery: Avoid some commonly used invasive delivery methods, such as forceps, because they often cause damage to the pubic symphysis.

Postpartum precautions:

The local area should be kept warm and protected from cold, and trauma and sexual intercourse should be avoided to facilitate recovery. During the treatment, the waist and lower limbs should not be moved extensively.
