Is a pH of 7.0 a boy?

If pregnant women find that the pH value is 7 during prenatal check-up, it does not mean that the fetus in their belly is a boy. If they really want to know the gender of their fetus, they can only do color Doppler ultrasound and amniocentesis. However, both of these examination items have certain risks and should be chosen with caution. Pregnant women should go to the hospital regularly for relevant examinations during pregnancy.

The self-monitoring method for pregnant women is simple and easy to learn, and can be easily mastered under the guidance of a doctor. Commonly monitored contents include fetal heart rate and fetal movement. Items such as fetal position and maternal weight.

Fetal heart monitoring: After 6 months of pregnancy, the fetal heartbeat can be heard in the abdomen, like the "ticking" sound of a clock, normally 120-160 times per minute. During the prenatal check-up, the doctor will first determine the fetal heart rate, and then the pregnant woman's family will listen by placing their ear directly against the pregnant woman's abdominal wall, or using a wooden stethoscope, one to several times a day. The fetal heart rate directly reflects the vital status of the fetus. If it is too fast, too slow or irregular, it means that the fetus is suffering from hypoxia in the uterus, which may endanger the life of the fetus and medical treatment should be sought promptly.

Fetal movement monitoring: The fetus "curls up" in the uterus and often stretches out its hands and kicks its legs. This is the so-called fetal movement. Normal arm movements are 4-5 times per hour. When measuring fetal movement, the pregnant woman takes a side-lying or semi-sitting position, and gently places both hands on the abdominal wall. Measure 3 times a day (once in the morning, noon, and evening), each time for 1 hour. If the sum of the number of fetal movements in 3 hours multiplied by 4 (equal to the number of fetal movements in 12 hours) is less than 20 times, or is reduced by half compared to before, or the fetal movement is frequent, combined with abnormal changes in the fetal heart rate, it means that the fetus is in danger and you should seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Western fetal position monitoring: Western fetal position examination mainly checks the position of the fetal head. The fetal head is spherical and hard, and is the easiest part of the fetus to feel in the uterus. Pregnant women can do the examination themselves under the guidance of the doctor during the prenatal check-up. Since the fetus is suspended in the amniotic fluid in the gestational sac and has frequent fetal movements, the fetal position also changes frequently. In a normal fetal position, the fetal head should be in the center of the lower abdomen, above the pubic symphysis.

If you feel the fetal head in the upper abdomen, it is a breech presentation; if you feel the fetal head in the side abdomen, it is a transverse presentation. Both of these fetal positions are abnormal and may cause difficulties in delivery. You should ask a doctor to check and correct them. Sometimes, the doctor finds that the fetus is in an abnormal position and it is difficult to correct it with external valgus version. In this case, the pregnant woman needs to lie on her chest and knees to allow the fetal position to correct itself. The chest-knee lying position is certainly not very comfortable, but in order to correct the posture, you should still persist in doing it and go to the hospital for a check-up after doing it for a week. If the pregnant woman checks the fetal position herself every day, once she finds that the fetal position has been corrected, she can immediately ask the doctor to confirm.

Convexity weight monitoring: The weight of a pregnant woman can also indirectly reflect the growth and development of the fetus. Generally it can be measured once a week. In the later stages of pregnancy (after 2 weeks), the fetus grows rapidly and the pregnant woman's weight increases by about 500 grams per week. If there is no weight gain for several weeks, it means the fetus is growing slowly; if the weight gain is too fast, the pregnant woman may have edema, or may be rapidly obese due to overeating. If you find that your weight is not increasing or is increasing too quickly, you should look for and determine the cause and take appropriate measures.
