How long do women's menopausal symptoms last?

Menopause is a stage that everyone needs to face. In fact, menopause is not scary. Of course, if there is a woman in menopause at home, you should still take good care of her and warm her with love. So how long does women's menopause usually last? What should women and their families pay attention to during this period?

Menopause refers to a series of physical and mental symptoms caused by fluctuations or decreases in sex hormones before and after menopause in women. Its main clinical manifestations are divided into the following three types.

First, the menstrual cycle shortens, the menstrual volume decreases, and eventually it develops into menopause.

Second, the menstrual cycle is irregular, the date and period are extended, and the menstrual volume increases. Some women may experience heavy bleeding or continuous bleeding which then gradually decreases and stops.

Third, cessation of menstruation is relatively rare.

Most women begin to experience symptoms related to estrogen deficiency around the time of menopause. In the early stage, the main symptoms are vasoconstriction, manifested as hot flashes and sweating. There are also mental and neurological symptoms. Symptoms such as agitation, irritability, anxiety, suspicion, depression, memory loss, inattention and sleep disorders are also common.

Four years after menopause, atrophic changes in the urogenital sinus may gradually appear. Degenerative changes such as metabolic changes and cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis and cognitive decline. How long these symptoms last varies from person to person and can be as short as one to two years or as long as five to ten years.
